Is this a new release, I have not heard of this film. Is this released in the USA yet?

The real question will be if Anydvd 6.1.0.3 can backup a full disc with full menus without "remove annoying adverts and trailers" selected in anydvd. This is supposed to be a very tricky title; that's why I'm recommending sending the ifos to Slysoft.

Re: Shottas

This movie was released in the USA last week, there were previous bootleg copies abound on the Internet.
It is a 2 Disc set put out by Sony Pictures

I had no problems ripping both discs with AnyDVD v6.1.0.2 and CloneDVD2 v2.9.0.3.

Region 1, of course.

DVD Shrink was not able to rip this title, even with the assistance of AnyDVD.

Re: Shottas

VTS 10 is badly corrupted with bad pointers in the VTSM PGC table. I am sure the authors of ADVD will figure it out. Other progs have.

Looking at the .ifo files I believe AnyDVD 6.1.0.3 shouldn't have any problems with this title.

James,

As mentioned in my previous post, AnyDVD 6.1.0.2 and CloneDVD 2.9.0.3 was able to make full disc backups of the Region 1 title without issues.

As stated previously, please use Anydvd 6.1.0.3:

http://sandbox.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD6103.exe

There's a good chance you will need to reboot after installing.

Re: Shottas

Are there newer softwares similar to DVD Shrink that have the same options that you have with DVDShrink. Even though DVDshrink is old I like the program and its easy use. I've never used the CLoneDVD is it better?

Nero Recode is newer and similar to Shrink due to the fact the author of Shrink went on to help develop Nero Recode. But Clonedvd2 is still a better choice for handling newer protections if you're going to use Anydvd.

Clonedvd2 is more compatible with Anydvd than Shrink is and is able to handle newer protections better than Shrink can (provided Anydvd is running on your toolbar). Clonedvd2 is certainly faster than Shrink. Clonedvd2 also has an advantage in that it is able to retain menus over split discs. Clonedvd2 is probably one of easiest programs to use.

When using Deep Analysis, Shrink's transcoder produces better picture quality than Clonedvd2 does--at the cost of taking more time to transcode. You can, of course, rip first using Clonedvd2 and then use whatever program you want (including Shrink) to compress the video, if you prefer.

1. The best way to rip using Anydvd is to use Clonedvd2. If you can't or are not willing to do that, this is how you rip using Anydvd:

2. With the latest version of Anydvd running, drag and drop the video_ts folder to your desktop using Windows Explorer. Alternatively, you don't need to rip at all and can just directly import the disc into whatever burning application you want, provided Anydvd is running in the background. You don't necessarily need to rip first at all. Not having to rip first at all is one major advantage of using Anydvd.

3. If you can't get what you want using #1 and #2 first, then you right click on the fox icon on your toolbar and select rip video-dvd to hard disk--but only if methods 1 and 2 fail first. This method uses an old version of FixVTS, which is often not required.

Good info, I'll probrably try out a trial vesion of CloneDVD to see if I like it. But before that when I get home later on today I'll see if AnyDVD 6.1.0.3 works first.thanks again...8302

You might try ripping with Dvdfab Decrypter, and see if its output can be read by shrink. Its free and gotten here:
http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm
use beta version.
Fab is easy to use and has a support forum here at cdf.
