cracked it too all menus did it a different way i went to clone dvd, clicked clone disc, unchecked everything except the 1hour 58 some minutes, while unchecking them a series of boxes will appear saying that it is checking the disc surface hit cancel as each pops up, finally after unchecking all these double click on the 1 hour and fifty some minutes, the first try it will error hit retry and it gave me a complete movie with menus and extras it just doesnt have the previews

Sweet! I'm glad you got that worked out. He kept more on his copy than I did on mine. I just selected the main movie and the menus and it worked, but I'm glad you finally got a working backup!

Re: saw3

I just got a perfect full disc backup using this method

You can copy "Saw III (R1)" full disc with CloneDVD2 when deselecting the "bogus" titles.
Remember you can try CloneDVD2 free for 21 days.

You could have achieved the same results by choosing option 1 and checking preserve menus.

That's how I did my first backup. I'm adding the extras now, but, my first copy that was successful I did exactly that.

Re: saw3

I am still watching this thread I started a week ago and I have to say I am amazed that no one has tried to back up this dvd using the method I used to make a full working back up as mentioned in one of my earlier posts I am also surprised that slysoft have not yet managed to get around the problem with saw 3 (R1) this one is tuning out to be a tough cookie to crack.

It is indeed one annoying title. But as I said in another thread, as soon as Slysoft receives this disc and updates AnyDVD, it'll be a distant memory and rather boring. We'll get there soon enough. For now, I'm enjoying playing around with different methods for backing it up. I've managed to make a couple different full disc backups using different methods. All of them require nuking a few title sets but so what...they're screwed up anyway. As far as I'm concerned I've got a successful backup of this title.

Re: saw3

I am no expert or even have the grasp of half the tech lingo used to work on SAW 3 but here goes.

Originally I used:

DVD Decrypter
Ripit4me
FixVTS
DVD Shrink
AnyDVD 6.1.0.7 (turned off) (remove adverts and so on as mentioned by others)

I read this combo from another forum and surprized I was it worked (movie only) onto a Maxell DVD - R. I don' t care for menus and extras only the movie.

I had to reformat my cpu for another reason and thought I should give this combo a try again, this is where I got totally confused because it would not work out after a few attempts. I figure I am forgetting a certain process, but I know it works. So anyone who understands these programs better than me will find it easy to work with.

Now the new process I used about an hour ago:

AnyDVD 6.1.1.1 beta (remove adverts and so on as mentioned by others)
CloneDVD2

WORKS AS WELL (again I only made it as movie only, no adverts or extras), this combo is really new to me but I tried it after reading this thread and I give thanks to all that mentioned it here.

The irony in this movie is how torturous it is to figure out these combos and have a good backup...lol.

Re: saw3

I think like Alan1476 said. Be a little patient. As long as you bought a legitimate copy, watch that. SlySoft will come out with an update pretty quickly like they always have. I say kudos to SlySoft and their team. They are amazing !

Re: Saw 3 unrated problem

New to backing up my DVDs, so let me recap what was suggested to do:

1) Let AnyDVD run in background
2) Backup DVD w/ CloneDVD2

That's it? No iso creation or special settings or anything?

Hey juaejr:

What specific steps did you take to back up your DVD?

I've used current versions of AAnyDVd & ClonbeDVD2 as directed by Webslinger --> creation of DVD files or ISO fails with "trying to repair defective DVD structure" & error message "NavigationPack 6 0 4 13 VOBU 4 0 4 Clone 6 TCE".

Any suggestions?

I tend to agree those that are in a rush need to return the title perhaps? Just speculating and agreeing with you here. The funny thing is slysoft is working on this and people still tend to post problems with it and not see it is work in progress.

Boy, they've protected this well!

Cannot even copy the 'Video_TS' directory from the DVD using Windows Explorer: "Cannot create or replace VTS_01_1: File system error (-2147351799)"

People still don't understand what James said. He can't fix the Saw 3 problem completely until he receive the movie.

Re: saw3

This thread has been merged with all the other thread on this movie, Slysoft will have a fix for this very soon, movie only can be done easily with CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD 6.1.1.2. If you look through the thread you will also find ways of doing a full disc.

Re: Saw 3 unrated problem

I basically followed the instructions of AnyDvd and Clone to make movie only, that were listed above.
