Resident Evil Apocalypse - R2 PAL

Seems like it's American counterpart to be protected. But with a new kind of protection. When you try to rip VTS_11 you are told

"Encryption detected !
File : VTS_11_1.VOB
LBA : 4169366

This disc is not supposed to be protected by CSS/CPPM so this is somewhat strange ! Would you like to try to decrypt the encrypted data ?"

And when you try to decrypt it, it doesn't work.

Anyone else encountered this problem and anyone know of a solution.
Many thanks.

Re: Resident Evil Apocalypse - R2 PAL

I got a similar problem. Same film, im using latest version of AnyDVD (4.5.7.2)
with latest version of CloneDVD2.

AnyDVD tells me:

Drive (Hardware) Region: 2

Media is a Data DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (parallel)

Video DVD (or CD) label: DVD_VIDEO
Media is CSS protected!
Video Standard: PAL
Media is locked to region(s): 2 4 5!

RCE protection not found.
Found & removed wrong DVD structure!
Found & removed structural copy protection (Arccos, Puppetlock)!
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Found & removed 4 bad sector protections!

Then, when i go into CloneDVD, it wont let me preview chapter, or even copy the disc, giving me an error message saying:

F:/Video_ts/vts_03_2.vob/:Invalid file size
[OSUtillO [WString]]

ANYONE GOT ANY HELP OR ADVICE?? IS THIS A NEW VERSION OF COPY PROTECTION? ID BE GRATEFUL TO HEAR OFF ANYONE

Re: Resident Evil Apocalypse - R2 PAL

Okay, problem SOLVED.

Used latest version of dvd2one, after ripping encrypted files to HD.
dvd2one just ignores the encrypted files. which are fake/dummy files anyway, so can be discarded without causing any problems.

Thanks to those who PM'd offering suggestions.

btw if you don't wish dvd2one to encode it, just set desired end file size to 9999MB. then you can encode with whichever software you prefer.
