And blank media issue. Try better quality blank media.
Also ensure your burner supports bitsetting changes to dvd-rom.

Your problem has nothing to do with Anydvd.

So can you explain why the movies play back perfectly on my PC or A laptop but not in a home dvd player. I have tried several different home dvd players with the same results freezing and glithing. But flawless on the PC.

4AWHILE -

This question has been asked numerous times. If you a desire an exact technical explanation suggest using the Forum “Search” and research the topic.

Simply there is a vast difference between a Stand Alone Desktop Playback DVD devise and a Computer DVD devise. The Stand Alone Desktop Playback DVD devise has electronic circuitry built into to devise to correct for any viewing errors. Whereas the computer DVD devises doesn’t have this electronic circuitry but relies on software programming to correct for any viewing errors. Electronic internal circuitry functions entirely different than software programming. This explains why DVDs play differently on Stand Alone Desktop Playback DVD devise and a Computer DVD devise. If this simplistic explanation doesn’t answer your question refer to my first paragraph.

Best Regards,
bjkg

Simply stated, some drives are better at reading junk media than others. This is a compatibility issue between the standalone players and the blank media you're using.

And again, you should be looking into whether your burner supports bitsetting to change the booktype of the blank media you're using to dvd-rom. Depending on the burning software you use, you may need to change to booktype of the blank media you're using to dvd-rom before burning to improve playback compatibility with some standalone dvd players. The search function on these forums works well.

Again, the problem you're experiencing has nothing to do with Anydvd.

Re: Replaying movie on DVD player freezes

I am just wondering, are the back-ups starting and then freezing up or will they not play at all? I had an issues with my stand alone player not being able to play my back-ups at all and changing my bitsetting corrected mt problem. Thanks to the help of members of this forum I am able to change my booktype to dvd-rom with my Sony DRU-710A burner using Nero CD/DVD Speed.

What speed were you burning at? I know with my burner I cannot burn at 16x without having problems. The few I have tried to do had glitches in the movies and would freeze up and then start again. But of course I have also recently changed my media to Verbatim as per the advice of this forum.

I used this burner for a while when I bought my last computer & on my system would not burn video reliably over 4X. I shelved it. This may or may not be related to your problem but maybe it will help some one else.
