Re: Remove protection from a hard drive folder

MentholMoose -

How did this “Copy Protected” folder appear on a Hard Drive “Folder”?

By definition “Copy Protection” means that it cannot be copied. That means to have this supposedly “Copy Protection” “Folder” copied to a Hard Drive some type of Copy Protection removal program had to be used to copy this “Folder” to the Hard Drive and the “Folder” should now no longer contain any Copy Protection scheme.

It would be extremely helpful if you explained in detail exactly what you are attempting to do so Forum Member fully understand so that they can provide meaningful assistance to you.

Re: Remove protection from a hard drive folder

This folder can be transmitted to the harddisk by many means:

One way is to have the driver authenticated (when the player first plays the disk), then the user copies the *.ifo files (which are not scrambled), then the user uses DeCSS or DecVob tools to decrypt the VOB files. This is when he can apply DvdFree tool which patches the IFO files.
