| Re: I give Up, Read & Did As You Guys Say? Why thanks Dr. Who I have solved at least the copying of this DVD (Narnia) at the moment. After reading one of the guys usage of 1Click DVD Copy, i tried the copy with it..At first it told me that i needed some prog called something xxx43 for free, But I already had AnyDVD installed, It worked for some od reason...Oh well, I will not try to fix the prob with CloneDVD...Sometimes it pays to a have two programs in case one fails anyway.... Thanks For the 411 Guys...My solution worked with 1Click DVD Pro & AnyDVD.... |

| Re: Region 1 Narnia won't copy I signed up here for the express purpose of asking why I can't copy Narnia. But after reading that people who suggest troubles with this DVD are suspected of being untruthful; I just wonder what to expect. The claims from people that suggest "just use shrink" or "anydvd"; that they did this with no problems at all sound more sus to me from my experience with this movie. What motives would a person or people have for admitting trouble? I'm no pro, that's for sure, but I've sure gone through my share of discs copying movies, and this is the only one I can't get to work.. When the flick first came out I tried copying it, and failed. So I bought another one for my mother, and tried to copy that, it failed. I didn't try anymore. I tried using " 1 click DVD copy" (trial version), DVD clone, and shrink. A fair bit of time passed, and somehow it came to mind again, so I gave it to a freind who wasted two discs trying ( I gave no indication to them I had any trouble), and they passed it to their freind who couldn't burn it. I imagine there's nothing more that can be added to what's already suggested. I did however feel moved to say there's no malice or evil intent on my part for saying these things, and thought it would be worthwhile posting this if for nothing more than record only. robPS. This is an Australian district movie (zone 4) Last edited by robbiey; 16-10-2006 at 10:16. Reason: edited to add region code to post |

| Re: Region 1 Narnia won't copy Hi and welcome to cdfreaks. I would try anydvd<---- a decrypter and then use in conjunction clonedvd2 both from slysoft http://www.slysoft.com/ Or you can google and try ripit4me with DVD Shrink too. This movie can be copied as I was one of them who did it the day it was released.

| Re: Region 1 Narnia won't copy @robbiey welcome you have it backwards the OP was accusing people who made succesful backups of being untruthfull now to help you you have a region 4 disk and this may have some type of dfferent protection try this start up anydvd 6080 and use the right click on icon rip to hdd then use dvdshrink to re author and your favorite burner to burn Do you have clonedvd2? if not try the trial and see if it works if that does not work you may try a program that has been said to have good results with region PAL region codes ie 2, 4 etc that doc suggested ie ripit4rme you can do search for it and go to its home page I have never had a problem with any R1 disk so have not had to use this program, but there are forum members who have had non-R1 problems that this prog helped with if all that fails copy and zip the .ifo files from your dvd with AD diasabled and send them to SS. MAybe some R4 members could comment on this |

| Re: Region 1 Narnia won't copy Robbiey - Numerous Forum Members in this thread have reported that they have successfully made backup copies of Narnia (Region 1). You have Narnia (Region 4) and are having difficulty successfully making a backup copy. As Forum Member Zag points out there appears that Narnia (Region 4) has some type of variant copy protection scheme. In reviewing this Forum thread there is no indication that anyone has sent the .IFO files to SlySoft/Elaborate Bytes for analyst. Suggest sending .IFO files to SlySoft/Elaborate Bytes for analyst and if necessary SlySoft/Elaborate Bytes will quickly issue improvements updates. The below Forum Link provides detail information on how to correctly send the .IFO files to SlySoft/Elaborate Bytes for analyst -> http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.ph...7&postcount=29 As Forum Member Zag points out it was the Original Poster (maxxjulie) who was making unfounded accusations and not Forum Members who were attempting to assist him. It should be noted the Original Poster (maxxjulie) finally inspected his copy of Narnia and found a “scuff mark on the back of the DVD” and thoroughly cleaned the DVD and then successfully made a backup copy of Narnia. | Re: Region 1 Narnia won't copy Thanks everyone, sorry I misunderstood the "sus" aspect. I've tried so many burning programs it's nuts, and so have freinds; it's totally frustrating. I tried ripping it to the hard drive and all I got was a tiny file after what seemed like forever to rip. needless to say it didn't burn, nor play. When trying to burn it directly from one drive to another a whole host of error prompts may show (one each time). Sometimes it simply states there's no DVD for the burn prog. to read in the specified drive. Other times it states the drive contains a media only disc. Other times it gives the appearance of ripping, and then an error report warns some problems "might" have occured. When observing the disc after one of these "burns" only a few minutes (very rough calculation) is burned onto the disc, and when the disc is inserted to the DVD player in the loungroom, the machine rejects it as not a DVD. What I'm getting at is it doesn't seem like it's going to let me get it onto any hard drives for manipulating into any format to burn or to "clean up" because it seems to not ever get that far to begin with. Simply on the basis that all the programs I've used refuse to recognise it in the first place. Not that I approve of people stealing copyright from DVD shops which hire out movies; I want to mention I know several people who have tried hired copies also, with the very same results. All I mention this for is to express the widespread problem I know this to be. Across a fairly broad range of people, with I suspect, is a broad range of abilities. In fact I tried to burn this movie a number of times a while ago (when I bought a second copy for my old mum, and tried that one aswell), and didn't bother again for ages. What motivated all this here, and my fresh attempts to burn the disc, is my son bringing home the movie from a freind's house with a couple good quality new blanks, asking me to try burning it, becuase his mate's parents have gone through a stack of blanks trying it themselves. I don't know these people, but again, the point is how widespread the problem appears. Having said that, I have no doubt members here would be able to accomplish this in my place, and recognise it's more than likely a matter of knowlege and experience that's blocking the whole thing. ZAQ I have all those programs you mentioned, but certainly have never tried them in combination as you describe. I'll give it a go over the next couple days, I have heaps to do right now again. But I will try. I'm keen as mustard to get a copy done. BeLooken, thanks for your input, I was actually reflecting last night, wondering if anybody's bothered to send the disc to a person on these boards, and rather than try to send the files you suggested (I will try, but I have reservations anything of worth can be taken from the disc at all), I'll try to pick up another disc and mail it along. It's gotta be worth a look at by someone who knows what they're on about, that's for sure. cheers all. rob PS. Just for the record (and not suggesting anyone thinks otherwise at all) I always clean discs thourougly before I attempt to burn them. I'm what you might call "fussy" about it, to be mild. I think it comes from being raised in the vinyl record era with a fanatic father about needle cleanliness. |
