Question about dvd protection. Id like an answer to this in no techie when it comes to dvd formats. With all the current protection thats about what is there to stop inserting in the dvd header the information to refrence the same sector its just copied or the same title name. Currently dvd`s are told by sony arcos to goto bad sectors that dont exist in the films normal run but get read by the copy programs. So why dont they insert a refrence back tho the same file that has a refence in the headers to refrence it all the time wouldnt that lock up a copier program? I think you get the idea of what im saying ??

Re: Question about dvd protection. @ dstream, Unfortunately I do not understand the question you are asking. Quite possibly other Forum Members might be able to understand your question and offer an answer to your question. The SlySoft/Elaborate Bytes technical staff is on the top of their game. If you ensure that you visit SlySoft (http://www.slysoft.com) download the latest versions of AnyDVD- CloneDVD you will be able to make backup copies of your Commercial DVD Movie Titles with out any problems. If the Commercial DVD Movie manufacture release a new variant of a copy protection scheme the SlySoft/Elaborate Bytes technical staff will quickly release an updated improved version of their software to handle the new protection scheme. Best Regards, bjkg

Re: Question about dvd protection. no it wasnt a question about anydvd but it was like any dvd kinda related. its about whats to stop dvd authoring software being told to goto itself all the time in the headers at the end of a film the dvd header goes to the title screen again. my question was whats to stop a fake file but referenced, being put on a disc thats told to goto itself all the time so rather than goback to the title screen go back to me and then me and then me. Would this lock up a copying program? or is it already taken care of?

Re: Question about dvd protection. ok let me see if I understand. you're saying that in order to copy protect, manufacturers should just put a file at the beginning of a dvd that points to itself..then it will redirect to itself over and over until you get annoyed with it and shut it off or until it locks itself up. if this is correct, i think the flaw with doing that would be that this command would have to be present in teh original in order to be transferred to the copy. if it were present in the original, no one's originals would play and people would get pissed off. assuming this were possible to force this command to run on only a copied version (which I'm not sure is feasible) The flaw in doing this is that Slysoft exists and possesses the superhuman powers to circumvent any type of protection that any company could ever dream of...and usualyl within 24 hours or less ![]()

Re: Question about dvd protection. no unrefrenced material is on dvd`s, they are like in the menus but not selectable by the user. Although present and when a dvd is read by most of the copying programs they go through the menus and read all the data and follow the links and goto those file areas. its like arccos it not read when viewing normally but the dvd structure points to it. so my simple question was is it possible to make an unreferenced file in the dvd structure point to iself over and over again. Would this put the copier into a loop that it couldnt get out of? if it followed the structure of each file. normally the file would then end and goto the dvd structure menu. This file would contain and error to go back to the start of itself. I was asking is that possible to do. Im not attempting it simply is it within the standard of the dvd structure to do and what would happen??
