Prolem with AnyDVD - Installed on HTPC, but it thinks it's a trial version Hi all, This is my first post, and I've done a quick search to see if others have had my problem. First off, I've been using AnyDVD in combination with Intervideo for about 2 years now. I picked it up when I read about it in MaximumPC awhile back. I've got three PCs in my house. 1 is my main gaming/studio rig that is upstairs, there's an older PC that does duty as my home network server, and my HTPC. I've always had AnyDVD on my gaming rig until recently. I've always kept redundant copies of all my software downloads including all the versions of AnyDVD that I save for updates as well as my AnyDVD license key - one copy of a HDD on my gaming rig and one on my server. Recently, I figured that I might as well install AnyDVD and Intervideo on my HTPC, 'cause that's where I watch all my DVDs, and if I want to rip it to .avi to my server as for easy watching at a later date, that would be the logical place to do it. So I install the latest version of AnyDVD on my HTPC, I go to my server and double click on my license file from it's network location to open it, and it appears to work. (I've also uninstalled AnyDVD and Intervideo from my gaming rig). Well now AnyDVD is telling me that my trial period is about to expire! Two and a half days ago, I e-mailed Slysoft customer support for help and have heard nothing. By opening a second copy of the license key, did I do something wrong? Did opening it from a network location mess it up? I'm just concerned that Slysoft has designed their stuff to be uber suspicious of any less than standard ways of opening up their software, and now I'm unfairly paying the price. Maybe there's some language in the EULA that I never read (not like I ready EULA's for fun or anything). Has anyone else had this problem, and is there anything I can do? I don't want to spend another $39 when I shouldn't have to. I guess for another $39, it's not a bad value.

Re: Prolem with AnyDVD - Installed on HTPC, but it thinks it's a trial version Hi, you ask many questions, so I will answer them in the order they were asked: > By opening a second copy of the license key, did I do something wrong? < No. > Did opening it from a network location mess it up? < No. > I'm just concerned that Slysoft has designed their stuff to be uber suspicious of any less than standard ways of opening up their software, and now I'm unfairly paying the price. < No. > Maybe there's some language in the EULA that I never read (not like I ready EULA's for fun or anything). < No. > Has anyone else had this problem, < Hopefully not. > and is there anything I can do? < Contact slysoft support, they will help you. Maybe there is a bug, maybe your key was blacklisted, only SlySoft can help you with this. > I don't want to spend another $39 when I shouldn't have to. < You should pay another 39$ if you use the software on more than one machine.

Re: Prolem with AnyDVD - Installed on HTPC, but it thinks it's a trial version Hey James! Thanks for the quick response. I'll send another support ticket tonight. I think I was a bit more clear on my situation in this post than I was in my initial support request. BTW, AnyDVD is fully uninstalled from my gaming PC (I really don't need it there). It's only installed on my HTPC. One last question - can a problem arise by saving multiple copies of the license key in a network situation? (it looks like the answer is going to be "No" again )
