Problems with Stealth movie

Hello,

I am getting this error:

File 1 E:/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_4.VOB 23 TCSectorReader

when trying to burn the Stealth movie dvd.

I am running CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD. I've attempted it 3 times with the same error each time. I also made sure the dvd was not dirty or anything.

Has anyone else had success with this one?

My AnyDVD log:

Summary for drive E: (AnyDVD 5.5.4.1)
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1

Media is a Data DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite)

Video DVD (or CD) label: DVD_VIDEO
Media is CSS protected!
Video Standard: NTSC
Media is locked to region(s): 1!

RCE protection not found.
Found & removed wrong DVD structure!
Found & removed structural copy protection (Arccos, Puppetlock)!
Found & removed invalid VOBUs!
Found & removed Autorun from Video DVD!
Found & removed 2 bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

I will send iso file if it will help.

Thanks in advance

VTS_01_4.VOB is in the middle of the movie, it is highly unlikely that there is a copy protection. Did you click "retry" several times (more than, let's say, 50 times?)
Can you try to use a different drive?
Does the movie (VTS_01_4.VOB) play from the drive you want to read? (I doubt it)
It is possible, that the disc is defective.

Re: Problems with Stealth movie

This disc plays fine from the same drive and also in the dvd player in the other room.

I will keep trying. Maybe I should restart my computer?

Thanks for the quick reply!

I will update you on this...

Re: Problems with Stealth movie

I don't know if this helps or not, but CloneDVD2 is giving me this exact error:

Processing error:

E/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_4.VOB: read error

Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

while it is scanning the titles in vts_01_4.vob 070043.

Re: Problems with Stealth movie

I get this message when I try to copy.

PS 10 VOBU 4 28 7 Clone 6 TCE

invalid block start code

One or more blocks might be corrupted by a prior copying process or by the source device covering the critical read errors. Try copying the video files to your harddrive again and retry.

Since people are successful in backing this up, apparently all copies are not created the same. I guess the lackluster QA procedures are just getting worse. Nice isn’t it? Companies complain that they aren’t getting enough money and they’re getting ripped off……for the absolute crap they put out. This movie locks up when I try and view it WinDVD platinum also.

Also, no problem here, copying it. Newest anydvd & clonedvd. Created a ISO image in clonedvd, and burnt 2 disc. Both played in my home phillips player and emerson dvd player.

Re: Problems with Stealth movie

Hi Cyberprincess, I don't know if you have resolved your problem, but I was getting the same error message as you when trying to run Stealth through DVDShrink and DVD Decrypter. From another Forum on Madagascar, I downloaded VobBlanker and ran both Stealth and Madagascar through it and it worked like a charm. Try it and let us know how you make out!

Re: Problems with Stealth movie

@ dragon602 .

can you please tell us the process of how you "ran Stealth" through VobBlanker" exactly to fix the problem ?

I got the program, but I don't understand exactly what you did to fix the rip problem with it. Obviously I am very unfamilar with it.

thanks very much

Re: Problems with Stealth movie

I just used anydvd 5541 and dvd shrink and then burnt with clonedvd2
no problems at all
but was a very slow rip
almost twice normal

to use vob blanker
keep all defaults
create a folder called Movie-temp
3 buttons on program
a) OUTPUT FOLDER browse to your movie temp folder
I think there is a bug in vob-b and sometimes it will start processing before you get to the output folder : hence this step first
b)INPUT FOLDER browse to your movie till you get to the VIDEO_TS.IFO
c) hit PROCESS button at button

now you can use dvd shrink on the MOVIE -TEMP folder to further compress or alter as you wish then burn to disk

Re: Problems with Stealth movie

Movie ran full length with no problems on stand alone player.

This method definitely worked around whatever problem it was having.

Re: Problems with Stealth movie

I downloaded the newest version of AnyDVD. I was able to use DVDShrink and Nero to copy Stealth. When I play the movie on my Sanyo DVD player it starts on the second chapter of the movie. When I play it on my PC or my wifes PC it starts on the first chapter. I have never experienced this problem with the past several hundred movies copied. I have tried twice with the same results. Any ideas?

Re: Problems with Stealth movie

Since I can not edit my post, I'll post what I have found so far. I have three Sanyo DVD players. The movie plays just fine on two of them but starts on the second chapter (4 minutes) on the third Sanyo player. I can then play in REV and it will back up from 4 minutes in slow motion all the way to 1 second and then I can play it from there. If I REV play to zero in the movie it will start back a 4 minutes again. This is wierd and has me totally stressed out. Atleast I know it has SOMETHING to do with the player and not the movie itself.

Had no problems with Nero Recode 2 & AnyDVD 5.5.5.1 on this one. Backed up both discs.
