| Problems with RV Hi All, Had problems backing the original movie "RV" with DVD shrink 3.2 and ANYDVD 6.0.6.3. Yes ANYDVD could rip the files to disk but shrink couldn't open them. Tried preferences/target mov size/custom setting/ 4360MB in dvd shrink as I read somewhere else. Ended up using DVDFAB's latest trial version and it worked fine. Any idea's as to why ANYDVD had problems with this? Problem could be me! Thanks for the help and sorry if I've left important info out. |

| Re: Problems with RV You need to use CloneDVD2 and or another program such as OneClickDVD Copy I have all these and with the new version of AnyDVD you will have no prob. I did a copy of my RV no issue! DVDFab is ok but the others will give you less issues! DVD Shrink has its place though but not as you have used it.

| Re: Problems with RV what is the error message that you get when "dvd shrink could not open them" ?? i assume you're using the anydvd ripper to get these files to the hard drive, correct? basically what it comes down to is that clonedvd and anydvd are designed to work together. dvd shrink is a program that is no longer updated. anydvd does the best they can to ensure that its output it compatible with as many programs as possible, but on some discs this end is not achieved. as has been stated, slysoft generally addresses these issues in a timely manner. in the mean time, it's always a good idea to have a few extra tricks up your sleeve. dvdshrink is still a great program despite it being LONG out of date. sometimes it just takes a little extra to make it work with certain decrypters. i'm sure a detailed email to slysoft's support team will yield a quick fix in the next update so others will not run into the same issue.

| Re: Problems with RV I guess the DVD RV has a newer protection as I am unable to even get no dvd compression option in CloneDVD2 in either DVD+9 or DVD+5. I guess I have to wait for slysoft to come up with a update to AnyDVD 6.0.6.3.. When I switched to using CloneCD it give alot of bad sector errors but did a backupof it though. Guess I just burn it to a DL media and see how it runs. Seems like the movie industry has stumbled onto slysoft success in their software to defeat the movie industry encoding. |

| Re: Problems with RV I've been using CloneDVD and AnyDVD for a couple of years, now; this is the first time i've have a problem copying a movie. I've tried everything trying to use the two programs to copy "RV" and nothing worked. I finally downloaded DVDShrink, DVDDecrypter, and RipIt4Me and i was able to get the movie downloaded to my hard drive (actually, i'm doing it as i'm typing). CloneDVD and AnyDVD won't do the job. I used to use DVD X Copy Platinum until I found SlySoft - Apparently it looks as though i'm going to have to move onto some other software that keeps their programs up to date. RipIt4Me has links for the programs that'll work best with the progam. (always see posts, where people say "CloneDVD", then there's some one writing back saying to use "CloneDVD2" (morons, it's the only one that'll work (or used to))) - I tried to use "CloneDVD2 with RipIt4Me, but it didn't work - I still got the same error (encryption error - it didn't say that, but that's what the error is). CloneDVD and AnyDVD don't want to admit that they can't decrypt the code of a DVD: That's why it's just a generic error when trying to copy the movie "RV" Last edited by ed82264; 25-09-2006 at 19:00. I see Slysoft has released an update to AnyDVD. Maybe you should update your AnyDVD installed program and see if the issue is corrected now. I have to believe that the current versions of AnyDVD/CloneDVD2 combination can handle this title with no problems. | |
