problems with Rendition

I've been unable to rip this DVD with AnyDVD, DVD Shrink on its own, or Ripit4me

Anybody else having problems with this one?

Re: problems with Rendition

I assume you are using anydvd 6.3.1.5? If so yes it will if you use the fox icon and right click and choose rip files to the hard drive first then use those files on the hard drive to run through dvd shrink. I have seen people do it on slysoft forum this way even.

Re: problems with Rendition

went back and tried it again. Failed to read on the first two times but then worked on the third. was able to rip and then compress afterwards with Shrink. Things that make you go hmm...

Anyway, thanks for the input. Wouldn't have tried it again otherwise.

Re: problems with Rendition

Forget ripit4me, Try the trial version of CloneDVD2, its free for 21 days, and use it with the latest version of Anydvd. No problems at all.

Re: problems with Rendition

I couldn't actually right click a menu from anydvd. I don't think anyone can.
I went to windows explorer instead, created a folder and put the files in there. Its taking a long time to download them and I have to have the dvd
back to the video store by 9 p.m., but I'll finish the experiment on another
1.57 a nighrt rental next tuesday. I think this is a gimmick warners is trying.

Re: problems with Rendition

Rendition isn't recognized by DVD Shrink. It doesn't even see the DVD. If you think you'll get around that by using ripit4me, think again. That doesn't work either. Rendition is among the first of the double layer dvds that are taking over 8 gigs of the 9.4 gigs on a double layer, just for the movie. If you have anydvd the current version 6.3.1.5, you need only right click the symbol along the bottom row of your PC to have the filles ripped off the DVD and onto your hard drive. I recommend you establish a directory in the C drive there called rendtion. The anydvd popup will ask you which directory to put it into. Put it there. It will take you some time. Then you can take the disk out and put your copy in even before shrink analyzes the files in rendition. You can then shrink the files into an ISO file and get yourself a nice burnable file. I found two others over eight gigs this past Tuesday: Silk and Goya's Ghost. The new anydvd feature will handle the problem easily.
