AnyDVD Discuss, problems installing AnyDVD at Copy Movie forum; I have downloaded anyDVD and am trying to install it, but the install appears to hang at the very beginning "Setting Restore Point". I have left it alone for up to 15 min and still nothing. It shouldn't take this long, right? I have disabled AV software

problems installing AnyDVD

I have downloaded anyDVD and am trying to install it, but the install appears to hang at the very beginning "Setting Restore Point". I have left it alone for up to 15 min and still nothing. It shouldn't take this long, right? I have disabled AV software and removed DVD43. And still no luck.

Re: problems installing AnyDVD

You could try to disable System Restore in windows and then try to install it.

Re: problems installing AnyDVD

I may be wrong but I don't think "Setting Restore Point" is an AnyDVD error message. Sounds more like a windows restore or goback type of program having trouble recording the AnyDVD installation. Go back to slysoft and get a clean download setup zip.

Then try shutting off all the little icons you have running in your system tray on the right side of your taskbar. Shut down all anti virus, firewall, spyware, norton icons etc etc.

Then try to run AnyDVD setup again.

I did indeed have system restore turned on. I don't ever remember turning it on, but my 5 year old has access and managed to send out a chain letter to all in my address book so I will say he manged to turn it on. Now putting a password on the system....Thanks guys.

Re: problems installing AnyDVD

If you're running Windows XP, Look in Administrative Tools under services and make sure that Windows Management Instrumentation is enabled, either automatic or manual will work, just as long as it's running, after doing that, you should be able to install AnyDVD without problems. Hope this helps.

LOL 5 year olds have a nasty habit of doing things like that. As we get older, they get smarter
