| Problems with Daredevil OK I know is quite an old movie but I have tried AnyDvd, Decrypter and Decrypter while AnyDVD was running but I didnt manage to copy it in my hard disc! Sometimes also my PC boots during the operation. Now for example Decrypter is giving the message Interpretation:Check Condition while ANydvd is running as well. I think copy programs starting to be behind competition (locking!) or is it something else? Also I noticed that most movies are more difficult to backup at the laptop than a normal PC. |

You fail to mention what version of Anydvd you're using. Anyway, all you have to do is right-click the fox icon in your toolbar and select "rip video-dvd to harddisk". Problem solved . . .

| Re: Problems with Daredevil durutti, If your crashing during the operation, you have a hardware or software conflict which has to be resolved before you can even think about backing up your movies. My guess is that both your systems could use at least a cleaning up or reinstall of OS and all programs. Update firmwares for your DVD drives. Name all the CD and DVD programs you have loaded on your system. Tell members about your system(s): brand?, DVD drives, internal or external, IDE configuration, video card, etc Whisperer |

| Re: Problems with Daredevil @ durutti, I totally agree with Forum Member Whisperer1 that you have to correct your Computer Rebooting problem before you can even attempt to make backup copies of Commercial DVD Movie Titles. Backing up Commercial DVD Movie Titles is a demanding task, which requires a rock stable computer system that is performing correctly. A healthily stable correctly operating computer system will not arbitrarily ReBoot. This is an indication that something is not operating correctly. Your Computer Rebooting problem could be possibly caused by an impending hardware failure. It can be very difficult to determine exactly what hardware component could be causing your problem. Suggest using a diagnostic tool such as PassMark BurnIn Test (http://www.passmark.com/products/bit.htm), which will analyze all your hardware components for impending failures. Best Regards, bjkg |

| Re: Problems with Daredevil Guys, always have them check the easy stuff first. It sounds like it very well could be that the DVD drive is set to PIO mode instead of DMA, no? At least start there before getting into the heavy troubleshooting stuff... |

My system would occasionally lockup (or recode would simply crash or fail to import the dvd) with Recode and Anydvd when importing titles on anything other than my burner (this is a known bug with Recode where two or more drives exist, in my opinion, since I can duplicate the problem on more than one system--and given that other people appear to have the same issue; moreover, someone working for Nero essentially acknowledged this issue). My systems are very stable and do not require OS reinstalls, formatting, incompatible driver/software removal, or anything else. Perhaps I am misinterpreting the OP, but I interpret "operation" from "Sometimes also my PC boots during the operation" to mean only the process of attempting to backup Daredevil using decrypter and anydvd. Were this rebooting to occur at random, during other operations, or with other dvds (using decrypter and anydvd), I would wholeheartedly agree with you and whisperer1. Otherwise, I suggest using Anydvd ripper instead of decrypter to rip the movie to one's harddrive (regardless, I would recommend doing this even if decrypter were working perfectly fine for the OP).

Here is the problem. I can still use the MAIN drive to do everything. The Secondary drive work with burning, plays CD's, etc. But put a DVD in it (any stamped commercial DVD) and Blip. Within 2 minutes, the entire computer reboots. NO BSOD, just BLIP/reboot. Thoughts? Could it be Nero? I removed all the Roxio drivers that come with Media Player 9 (upper/lower filters, etc.)...

My thoughts are as follows: 1. Create your own thread. 2. This is unlikely to be an Anydvd issue, but a hardware or driver installation issue. As such, I believe you are posting in the wrong forum. You should also be posting your full system specs (including what power supply you're using) and the information given from running dxdiag.exe ("save all information"). Is the drive set to master or slave? Is the jumper set properly on the drive? Is DMA enabled for your drive? What motherboard are you using? What OS are you using? Are there alternate ide bus or sata drivers available for you to use? Do you have a bad LG drive that needs to be RMAed? Have you tried connecting your LG drive to the power supply without sharing the same power line with another drive or something else? Is your system overheating? Is there a firmware update available for your LG drive? Are you overclocking anything on your system? 3. It's easy to discover if Nero is the culprit by using the Nero cleaner and completely uninstalling Nero. But I suggest if this solves the problem you are having, there are probably some lingering Roxio files on your system. What other burning software do you have on your system? Unfortunately, I don't have the time to troubleshoot this particular issue, but the questions I have asked in this thread are the kinds of questions you should be asking yourself.

| Re: Problems with Daredevil i'm able to back daredevil using anydvd and ulead movie factory 4. The movie is running smoothly on the pc, but on the burned DVD, a slight motion problem is present when i play using my dvd reader. I'll test the dvd on the player and will update on this issue. |
