Re: problems copying a copy

Could you give some more information, like what versions of anydvd and clonedvd2, what kind of burner, and what media you are using? Also, exactly what problems are you having?

I have the latest updates for both anydvd and clone2 , burner is a LG.I am using some cheaper dvds and also have tried memorex dvds...some movies copy okay and I can read them in the computer and make copies from them and others I can get a copy from the original but not from a copy..thought I was getting bad dvds..

Re: problems copying a copy

Run your original copy thru DVD Shrink, if theres a corrupt file on original copy Shrink will find it. Copying a corrupt file in Nero will result in tea coasters.
Check your burner compatibility with the blank discs you are using, which discs are you using dvd-r or what and at what speed?

If you are just copying a copy use dvd decryptor in iso mode....

Re: problems copying a copy

@ Peggy

Can you give more detail of what you call a problem? What is the problem doing or not doing?

Using cloneDVD to copy a copy are you:

1. Using which button to start with? i.e. button 1, button 2 or #3
2. How are you making the image to harddrive of the copy?
3. Will it not burn?
4. If it burnt, will it not play in your standalone?

I'm sure once you answer those simple little questions myself or other can better help you...

@ Peggy

I also wanted to add, if you are making a copy of a copy, you do not need to turn on AnyDVD. I see that you asked your question in the AnyDVD forum and not Clone.

I have heard of some people having problems with making copies of a copy when they turn on the AnyDVD. The problem was solved by 1 of 2 ways, 1 delete the CSS key in your Anydvd archive or 2 just don't turn on the program.

Also, just use the 3rd button on CloneDVD

Re: problems copying a copy

@ neobenjidog,

Since you are posting in the AnyDVD Forum I am assuming that you are using the AnyDVD- CloneDVD combination. You mention DVD Decrypter in you posting. You either use AnyDVD or DVD Decrypter but not both at the same time. Using DVD Decrypter in conjunction with AnyDVD can cause conflict issues.

Suggest visiting SlySoft (http://www.slysoft.com) and download the latest versions of AnyDVD and CloneDVD.

The AnyDVD-CloneDVD combination has been used many times to make a back-up copy of National Treasure without any problems.

From the limited information you have provided I am assuming that your problem is a DVD media incompatibility problem between your DVD Burner and the particular DVD media you are using.

Suggest viewing the below posting concerning DVD media incompatibility problems.

Re: problems copying a copy

okay. national treasure.. took another look and clonedvd2 (product key vers.) wont compile past 97%. On second glance it isnt even getting to the writing to dvd. tried buttons 1 through 3 with same result. clonedvd2 will bring up some kind of unexpected error box. ... is there a patch or fix?? other programs with copy programs: little black book (ya whatever), ELEKTRA, NATIONAL TREASURE.. blade trinity offered no challenges but remember dvddecrypter was used.

It would be interesting to know, what the error box said. Sending the log to bugs(at)elby.ch might help as well. (as the error box suggested).
BTW, you are posting in the wrong forum and in the wrong thread.

Re: problems copying a copy

Olli,
It seem clonedvd2 can not read/write with dvd copied over burn (none protected)
what is clonedvd2 read/write dvd size 4462, 4472, 4492 ?
no problems with 4462+2 (nero write extra leadout)
some times problems 4472+2 (nero write extra leadout)
problems 4492+2 (nero write extra leadout) this is out of dvd standard spec.

Very possible. CloneDVD asks the media for its size, it shouldn't start writing if the source material does not fit. Still, wrong forum, hijacked thread.
