Problems with computer after D/L of 5.5.1 and then the U/D 5.6.1

I have had problems with Any DVD affecting my notebook's operation after the D/L of 5.5.1 and then the update to 5.6.1.
The office Tech removed and D/L both versions for me at the office.

He found each time that after the program was removed that my computer would operate properly. When it was installed the notebook would not open any programs on my desktop nor could I shut the computer down properly.

Since I needed the program for my dvd backups (my home hobby) the office tech decided to help me further and so he did more checking of my notebook for malware, viruses etc. and detected nothing.

Then the office tech did another new D/L of the 5.6.1 and I should say that I have licences for both Clone DVD and Any DVD and so there is no issue there.
After this past D/L the computer would not open programs again on my desktop shortcuts. It went back to the same problems I had originally.

I decided to remove the program at the advice of the office tech and did this when I was in "safe mode". Then did a Registry clean.

I rebooted my computer and my security program "Win Patrol", Scotty the dog opened a Window that asked if I wanted the "any dvd exe." which was indicated as having " no Icon " added to my Startup and I clicked on "No" and the Window closed and I proceeded to try my computer and had it again run properly. (This was the First time that the Win Patrol Program had given this message after removal of the problematic Any DVD versions that had been D/L and then removed.)

The office Tech suggested that I post in this forum to see if any experienced users have any suggestions.
I should say that these D/L's have been from the Slysoft site.

Presently I am without the program on my notebook until I try to resolve this issue.
As I mentioned earlier my computer is secure both at home and at the office. Especially at the office as I am a professional and we have very secure notebooks.
This is a requirement of management.
I look forward to comments from experienced users.
Thankyou very much.

@ Cleary,

This is an on going never-ending problem that you have with the AnyDVD- CloneDVD software programs as evidenced by the below referenced Forum Postings initiated by you.

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=143462

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=149494

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=150708

If you had completely and properly removed the AnyDVD software program from your computer when you rebooted your computer WinPatrol should not have known anything about AnyDVD.Exe and not asked to include it in your StartUp. It appears that you have not removed all remnants of AnyDVD from your computer.

The AnyDVD-CloneDVD software programs are extremely stable software programs. Suggest that you perform a Forum search and see for yourself that no Forum members have reported anything similar to the problems you are currently reporting.

There is some type of conflicting hardware or software issue with your Computer. Suggest that you ensure that all your hardware has the newest latest up to date drivers available installed. Also ensure that all your software has the newest latest up to date update versions available installed.

Best Regards,
bjkg

Re: Problems with computer after D/L of 5.5.1 and then the U/D 5.6.1

Thankyou for the reply. The Clone DVD issue has long been resolved and the program is working fine.
The office tech has checked for updated firmware for the burner and also checked with the toshiba support sitefor any new Toshiba notebook updates for my model and everything is uptodate.
When the tech did the Reg Supreme Clean the following came up in the list:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\JackassArswareOrg\Start Right\Run and is shown as:
File c:\program files\slysoft\anydvd\anydvd exe.doe

He did another Reg Supreme clean and it continued to show up and it was after that was done that the Win Patrol came up with that message that I noted in my prior post.

I still don't have the program installed and the computer is running fine. What the Tech did notice is that Spysweeper when Any DVD is installed does not operate properly and sometimes it will load at start up which is what it is supposed to do and sometimes it won't.
So he is wondering if there is some sort of conflict between these 2 programs and also he asked if I would post the above "HKEY..." and see if that is part of the Any DVD program.
I should say that the tech has made sure that the Spysweeper is uptodate and checked its settings however when he tried reinstalling the 2 programs earlier today the same issue with the notebook started and so that is why he asked me to post these details and we uninstalled Any DVD again.
Clone DVD as mentioned earlier was working fine although I of course have done no further backups having uninstalled Any DVD.
If there is a compatability issue with these 2 programs is there another purchase program apart from Any DVD that I might use as we are required to use Spysweeper for work purposes.
Respectful Regards.

I have spysweeper and anydvd on my pc and don't have any problems with it.
If your having some registry problems, try using a program like registry mechanic from Here

Thankyou for the reply. The office tech uses Reg Supreme, however I will look into Registry Mechanic myself.
We don't know if it is a registry issue, that is why the tech asked me to post the "HKEY" entry that was in my prior reply as the Tech wondered if that is part of the program as it remains stubborn to remove via the Reg Supreme program.
I would appreciate any comment.
Thankyou

You can find out info about StartRight here: http://www.joejoesoft.com/sr.php

Basically it is a program that controls the way programs load and run when you boot up. It is possible that program is causing your problems with AnyDVD...

If you have AnyDVD installed but not running do you experience the same problems?

Re: Problems with computer after D/L of 5.5.1 and then the U/D 5.6.1

Cleary,
Looks like you have some sort of Trojan there.
Regarding HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\JackassArswareOrg\Start Right\Run and is shown as:
File c:\program files\slysoft\anydvd\anydvd exe.doe

You must delete that key and when deleted check and make sure the slysoft executable file looks like this
File c:\program files\slysoft\anydvd\anydvd.exe

You say the registry entry is stubborn to remove, it’s probably because of permissions are prohibiting it’s removal. Use Regedit and navigate to the key, in Start-Run box type in regedit and go to the key.
First try right clicking on the key and chose delete, it may not work.
If not, right click on the key and select permissions. All three boxes should be checked under allow. Sometimes the third box special permissions will be grayed out and you must correct that.
If your user name is not there, hit the add button and type in your user name, once you’ve done that under group or user names highlight your name, then check all the boxes. This will enable you to delete those stubborn keys.
If you are not authorized to do it and don’t have full administrative privileges, have the person who has full administrative privileges do it.

Good Luck

Thx for the replies, I am finally getting back doing some backups again. Yes the "Start Right" was causing problems with the Any DVD, so I got rid of that entry and now the program is working fine.
I really appreciated the experienced comments, thankyou.

Regards.
