problem playing dvds on windvd5

Installed windvd5 in my laptop: EVO N610c-1.8- 40gb hd- 512mb ram-14" screen- changed resolution, acceleration full, I went thru a lot of expermenting and no result. My problem is, upon inserting a dvd movie(which plays fine everywhere else) windvd comes up and across its window says: create overlay failed, lower resolution or color depth and try again. Been there and did it all, can't seem to resolve this issue. Can I get some imput???
I would appreciate it!! I've seen some suggestions on different sites and it wasn't enough. Thanks

@ robertbianco,

Welcome to the Forum.

Perchance are you aware that you are posting in the AnyDVD Forum? The problem you are reporting is not related to the AnyDVD software program. Posting of this type should be posted in the more appropriate CD Freaks General Software Forum (http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3)

Suggest completely removing WinDVD and ensuring that your VGA graphics card has the latest most up to date drivers installed. Then reinstall WinDVD.

Best Regards,
bjkg

Is windvd a microsoft product? Watch out! All the new stuff from ms has DRM now! There are plenty of good computer based player softwares to be had.
