I am using AnyDvd 6.0.4.5 And CloneDVD 2.8.9.9
I tried making a copy to my hard drive to burn later and It stopped copying at 50%. Then I ripped to my Hard Drive and was successfull but then I got an error when burning it to a DVD.
Here is a Summary of the DVD Prison Break

Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Bad sector protection not found.
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

And in my last error it read as
E 12:56:16 Writing stopped: F:/PRISON_BREAK_S1D1/VIDEO_TS/VTS_08_1.VOB: read error
D Error details: File 1 F:/PRISON_BREAK_S1D1/VIDEO_TS/VTS_08_1.VOB 1117 W2
Should I be able to make a copy of this?

Accordingto the AnyDVD info, there is no serious protection on the disc.
Did you try cleaning the disc? This appears to be a 20 century fox DVD.

I have tried cleaning the disc still just locks up about 50% of the way through disc copy. Also Tried disc 2 of Prison Break and it also locks up at 48% through copy.

Whenever this happens
- The first thing you should do .... after cleaning the Disc .... is ....

Use the VSOInspector to scan the Disc ( it's Free )
http://www.vso-software.fr/products/.../inspector.php

If the Inspector reports "READ Errors"
Then you'll know that you've come across a "BAD" Source Disc .

I would then suggest that you acquire a different copy
... and compare your results .


You're not having any trouble with other Discs , Right ?

It saves a lot of 'tail-chasing'
- knowing if the source Disc is bad or not

...... and it does happen ...

If F is your DVD drive, you are burning from the wrong location. If F is your Harddisk - who did you "rip" the files there? Just use CloneDVD on your DVD drive.

No I am not having problems with any other discs just all of the discs I have tried in this Prison Break Season 1 set.
I ran VSOInspector to scan the Disc and got these results

I tried copying it again. Let me explain what it does a little better. In ConeDvd during the creating DVD files process in aproximately 20 minutes it gets up to 50% and then it just frezzes up no error it has been aproximately 1 hour in the stuck possition I don't believe it is going to continue. (it says it has 19 minutes remaining). It also says
processing titles in vts_06_2.vob 404020. Everytime I have tried to copy this it gets stuck in this exact same spot.

Try VOB Blanker then process through clonedvd and see if that helps.

VOB Blanker Gets exactly 50% also then goes to Not Responding. The status bar says that it is processing VOB VTS_06.
Any other ideas?

Could you please describe exactly what you did? I do not understand what you are doing, so I am unable to help you.

Okay, so the error is during reading, not writing. Please send the .ifo files so I can take a look. Thank you!

I don't see how VOB Blanker could help when making a copy with CloneDVD.

Have you tried ripping the movie with the AnyDVD ripper?

After placing the DVD in your drive, wait for the fox icon in your taskbar to turn dark red. Then right click the icon and select "Rip Video-DVD to Harddisk".

I just backed up the first 3 discs of Prison Break with AnyDvd 6.0.4.5 and Dvd Shrink 3.2 with no problems. Even though VSO inspector showed no problems maybe try and exchange the set?

I have just done backing up disc 1 although mine are the R2 set. Note that the protection/authoring techniques on the R2 disc is slightly different from R1

I did Disc 1 and Disc 2 of Prison Break (Region 1) with no problems. I will contact you and see if we are on the same page, ok Bubbles.

It may be you have a bad disk or a disk that was manufactured wrong. Can you exchange it for another set of dvds?? I had a similar problem and returned the dvd for another and then had no problems. What are your system specs, memory etc, and what dvd drive and firmware??
