Well, using DVD Shrink worked for me, although I prefer Clone DVD's option for completely removing parts (not just shrinking them with still or compression methods which takes more space than merely removing them) while preserving menus. You can remove complete parts with DVD Shrink but this option will not preserve menus.

it did work using a different method...

Was always getting the error message TC1 when doing a read and write from clonedvd. Did a read a wrote to files from clonedvd using a toshiba dvd rom from a laptop. Once all the files on the hard drive without any error message selecting the same menu options and only keeping what I wanted, I did a write from clonedvd from my computer after transferring all the files back to my computer with my plextor to a blank dvd. The result is a working copy wihout any error message...
Just to let you know

CAUTION: I would be careful with that CloneDVD update patch. I installed it yesterday and it conflicted with something somewhere (must be a driver) but it wouldn't let me read any dvd's. My rig would reboot each time it started to read a dvd. I tried many different movies also. I got reboots even with other software (DVD Decrypter & DVDXCopy Platinum) My system was working fine before installing the update. I tried going back to CloneDVD 1.3.11.2 (uninstalling updated version first) but couldn't get it to work again after that. I also tried system resore (XP Pro) with no luck. A format solved this and I'm back up and burning dvds again with 1.3.11.2 & ANYDvd 2.1.0.9.

All I can figure is it conflicted somewhere with one of the many dvd authoring proggys I had on the machine. Can't pin it down, but I don't want to go through that again. lol

system specs:

Sony DRU500a (2.0g firmware)
Lite-ON JLMS XJ-HD166S (DS31 firmware)
amd 1600+
512 pc3500 corsair
WD 160gb s.e.
MSI kt3 ultra 2

You described your problem exactly.

It's no surprise that there are conflicts on a machine with many programs that somehow want to use the same ressources, is it?

Yep, this COULD be a reason.
I installed the latest "fix" and it works like a charm.

There was only one program running at a time though. I closed all dvd progs before starting another. And I didn't have any issues like this before I installed the updated CloneDVD. I'm not faulting the update, but it definately conflicted with something - somewhere.

Like I said, I wasn't able to burn dvd to dvd without getting the error TC1 but I don't get the error when doing the same DVD on my laptop and writing to files instead...
Strange...

I also had a problem with The Simpson's Season 3 discs 1, 2, and 4 with both AnyDVD 2.0.0.4 and 2.1.0.9. Disc 3 worked fine

Any chance you can upload the file for some of us? I received this message from SlySoft:

We're still testing the new version. It's slightly too early to be released for some technical reasons.
We will put it on our website as soon as possible.

I got the following link, where you can try to download version 3.0.0.1

http://static.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD3001.exe

They have included a tool that removes digital audio protection.
I haven't got a lot of audio cds with a protection, but it seems to work. Anyhow the "dirty dvd" bug seems to be fixed.
