Went back to AnyDVD 2.0.0.4 and everything worked perfect!!

I guess it's time for another AnyDVD update

Something about a CSS-encoded dvd that it cannot read.
And it doesn't backup copyprotected dvds.

btw, both my dvd drives are RPC1 with the latest firmwares.
1. Goto here

2. The latest FW for DRU500A is 2.0g, not 2.0f. It would be very wise of you to update it.

I've found the old AnyDVD v. 2.0.0.4 and have no problem nor the error screen while backuping:

DVD: Robin Hood / Region 2 / PAL / Warner Bross

re: 1) thanks for the link. I found the work-around to be helpful.

re:2) the 2.0g firmware was news to me lol, I flashed it a today. thanks.

the DRU500A firmware had nothing to do w/ the issues but the work-around is the key. AnyDVD 2.0.0.4 was no different to v2.1.0.9

Where did you get the older version? It' a pity that slysoft just offers the current version.

@kenrippy - You're welcome !

@vomitator - You can get it here > SetupAnyDVD2004.exe

Hopefully, SlySoft will take this fact into consideration.

Thanx a lot!! The "downgrade" really solves the problem, the warning is not displayed anymore, all dvds can be read...

Hopefully, SlySoft will take this fact into consideration.
That would be really fine

Yes. I believe the right to choose should belong to the SlySoft/Elby customers.

So do I

I've contacted Slysoft and told them about the "downgrade-solution" and that we hope that they can fix this problem asap.
I've also told them, it would be appreciated by many customers that not only the latest version is available for download.

I, too used the link and downloaded the earlier version. I uninstalled the newer version and retained my registration pin and everything is OK now. All those DVD that were eliciting an error read message now work fine with AnyDVD.

Cool. ....and thanks.

I too had the same problem as described by Mad Burner. I thought Finding Nemo was defective and took it back to the Disney store for exchange but the same thing happened. I rolled back to AnyDVD 2.0.0.4 and was able to backup Finding Nemo before the kids could destroy it!

Problem occured with latest CloneDVD, AnyDVD 2.1.0.9, Plextor 708 external burner (firmware 1.03), Finding Nemo, USA, NTSC, region 1, XP Pro (latest upgrades).

I just want to say "Thank You" to everyone that posted on this thread. I was having the same exact problem with creating a back-up copy of Finding Nemo using the newest version of AnyDVD and CloneDVD. I was able to accomplish it with DVD region-free, but it is so cool to now know that the downgrade to an older version of AnyDVD will work. I hope Slysoft will fix this glitch and continue with their wonderful product.

So did I. But Slysoft told me they have no idea, why version 2.0.0.4 works and 2.0.1.9 does not

Me too had the problem with finding NEMO. Had to transcode and rip with DVD Shrink, but then I couldn't use the authoring capabilities of Clone DVD which are better (removing extras without losing menus).

Did your original registration pin worked for the older version?

When I Un-installed version 2.1.0.9 AnyDVD asked at the end if I want to keep my registration data and I clicked yes. Then I installed version 2.0.0.4 and all worked fine.
