| Re: Problem With The Ant Bully Here's an observation on read errors. The newer dvds intentionally contain more garbage sectors than ever, as we all know, and are there specifically to trip up computer dvd readers, which use error control and are a lot more easily confused than a stand alone home player. Even with the latest and greatest decryptors and garbage removing software these disks can still trip up CERTAIN dvd drives. I have 4 totally different DVD drives in my two computers and I have NEVER not been able to rip and burn a new dvd. Yes, I have had CRC errors. But here's the clincher. The CARS dvd, for example gave me read errors on two of my drives, but read fine on my other two. My point is that not all dvd drives can read all disks the same. Certain media plays well in certain drives. This is why we all have certain preferences when choosing our blank media-- our drives are picky. I am sick and tired of everybody blaming the disk or software programs for read errors. It's your drive! Yes, certain disks are tuff, but anydvd (v6.0.8.2 and earlier), dvd shrink with Nero, and a few DIFFERENT branded (lg, lite-on, hp, and an old hitech are mine) dvd drives have gotten me through several hundred perfect back-ups. Drives are about $30 each online, and an extra DIFFERENT brand will be a good invest for those of you with a lot of CRC problems. My latest drive is the $29.99 LG GSA-H10N. It reads and writes EVERYTHING and was was just ranked #1 by PC World Magazine. Again, it's usually your drive's inability to read the disk more than it is the disk's inability to be read by your drive... Good luck to you all!
