Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone else had a problem when they updated to 6.0.8.0. I don't know if it's what caused this, but I got locked up while playing WOW. I had to totally restart the computer by pressing the power button. When I turned the computer back on, I got the "you may be a victom of software conterfeiting" error which means that you don't have a genuine copy of windows. My computer is a Dell and windows was of course included with the computer. I talked with Dell support and they lead me through a system restore to a day before this problem began which was 2 days ago. The only update that was made on my computer was the anydvd upgrade. So I did the system restore for 3 days ago and all is fine again. I was going to try updating again, but I was curious to see if any others had the same problem. I think your problem with Windows was due to file corruption, after shutting down Windows via the power button. Ordinarily when this is done, Windows will do a disk error check upon reboot, to look for incomplete files and errors. System Restore has fixed the problem.
Updating to 6.0.8.0 shouldn't present any problems.

Well, be advised that MS also issued a new version of their WGA program this past week. So it's possible an auto-update of XP downloaded and applied this new version and for some reason it now thinks your copy is fake.
