i'm currently having a problem with my anydvd 4.5.7.2. i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but keep getting the same problem..


anydvd.exe - no disk
there is no disk in the drive. please insert a disk into drive d:
cancel, try again, continue

it will let me hit continue and i can successfully copy a dvd... but it's a tad bit annoying to be receiving this message. any ideas on how to fix it?

I've been backing up my dvd's with a much older version of DVD SHRINK for some time, then doing an ON THE FLY burn (NERO) with the backed up dvd with no problems. (i'm trying to pin this down) I've installed DVD SHRINK 3.2 recently and now NERO won't recognize the burned disks I've recently made with DVD SHRINK 3.2

Is there something I'm missing here? They play fine in the DVD player but NERO will not allow me to make a duplicate, nor can I load it with DVD SHRINK from there on in. Anyone else having this problem?! It's frustrating me!

Here's what I get from DVD DECRYPTER when trying to open up my backed up DVD:

UDF File System Parsing Failed!

Device: [1:0:0] SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-816B H000 (D (ATA)

Reason: Function 'UDFFindPartition' returned 0


I have no friggin idea what's going on but I'm going to assume the problem lies in the DVD SHRINK 3.2 as all previous movies that I've burned (prior to the 3.2 upgrade) are okay to reburn/read.

I guess what I need to know is, can this be fixed, or do I have to go to a previous DVD SHRINK version to aviod this crap.

okay so here's the problem

i've just updated my samsung firmware to the H003 and it hasn't fixed the problem

anything that this new pioneer drive burns, the samsung wont read.

this firmware upgrade i just did on the samsung was suppose to address a 'readability problem' the sight said. it didn't fix my readability problem

(it has nothing to do with DVD SHRINK 3.2 as I previously posted)

Ok here is my problem.

I am running a Dell P4 3.4 with HT. I have the latest Nero Ultra 6.6.0.8 with smart start. I also have AnyDvD 4.5.7.2. My DVD burner is a _NEC DVD+-RW ND3450A Rev 102B.
Whenever I Try to Copy a DVD with Nero, my computer freezes right up. Sometimes right when I click the SmartStart button. This only happens with AnyDvd running in the background. I can turn it off, and then Nero works fine. Is this a known compatibility issue? I have over 100gigs of HD space and I think everything is running fine. I have CloneDvD as well, and that runs fine with AnyDvD.
I know Nero recognizes the copy protection but will AnyDvd work with Nero? I just want to back up copies of my own movies. I don't think its a problem with the movies themselves, since Nero will freeze up before it even looks for a drive. I am positive it has something to do with AnyDvd In the background. I don't want to upgrade my AnyDvd until I know for sure it will work in Nero. Thanks for your help.

Sounds like a problem with Nero. I'm using Nero 6.6.0.3 with Nero Recode to process DVDs. I also run AnyDVD 4.5.7.2 in the background to decrypt. No problem. You may want to download Nero Vision Express with Recode and retest.

I'd remove and reload Nero and AnyDVD.

Did and Did. Even removed all traces of them with Quickclean. Still happens. Under the Nero Info tool, it says my System ASPI is corrupted (now). I did some reading and downloaded the KillASPI and then reinstalled the 32 bit version of Adaptec 4.71a2. No help.

I really seems like the Program wants to crash whenever I puts a DVD+RW into the drive as well. I can burn a DVD+R no problem (with anydvd off) but that seems to be the jist of it. I , somehow, got that WOW.exe on my computer and deleted it. I know a file called wowpost or something similiar, is used for DVD's but I am not sure.

I can go back to a restore point from a couple of days ago, but I have been really busy on this thing getting it to run great. And it is. Please help.

Edited to add. I forgot to mention I am running XP with SP2. I also downloaded and installed the mod driver from the dangerous brothers. Is there known conflict between the two? I did that this morning, after all my problems.

The problem could be the ASPI driver. I've never loaded ASPI with Nero 6.6.0.3, Recode, and the NEC 3500.

I used ForceASPI to move in the correct files. Nero Infotool now says every thing is hunky dorie. It ain't, made no difference. Same Problems.

Basically, I just wanted to move into an all in one software for Burning both Cd's and Dvd's. Guess that wont happen anymore. In fact, I am worse off then when I used CloneDVD and Alcohol, at least Alcohol could erase DVD's. Guess I will put that back on. I just think that somehow it is a compatabilty issue with my Drive and NERO. That I have no idea how to solve.

Off topic for a sec, what is the most powerfull program you guys use to convert AVI files to DVD? Anything that will make the d:\VIDEO_TS directory? I am a fairly knowlegable geek, just new to this DVD copying.

a mate of mine can't use Nero with Any DVD, he gets the same problems you have, or very similar. He's the kind of guy that wont give up easily, so if he finds a solution I will post it for you. unfortunately, he is coming to the conclusion that Nero is the culprit on some rigs. Why this is he is yet to find out.

It's a real shame he will not join any kind of forum for some reason, I have no idea why? He could be a great asset to this and other parts of CD Freaks, if I could only persuade him.

Had the same problem when I updated to the latest version of Nero and Recode, AnyDVD quit working. In fact, Recode could no longer access unprotected DVDs anymore. Uninstalled Nero, used the clean tool and reinstalled earlier version still had the same problem whether AnyDVD was installed or not.

Luckily running XP and had a recent restore point. Restored system and everything is working again (with earlier version of Nero). Guess I'll wait until they get this straightened out before I upgrade again.

I gave up. I spent almost 15 hours on this problem and said screw it. Don't want to create any problems with this computer, cuz of some two bit program. I will just never use Nero for anything to do with DVD's. Its that simple. Sure feel good I shelled out the money for that program. I will heartily share this with any of my friends who feel the need to buy it as well. Not worth the headaches, when you can just use any freeware packages to burn Cd's. Which is basically all I own now. An $85 dollar (canadian) piece of crap.

I tried Nero on my rig today and guess what, It locked up as soon as I tried to use it with Any DVD running.

Any DVD works with all the other progs I have, so something is a bit iffy with Nero? (I borrowed my mate's copy in the interests of science, he now has it back!)

I wonder why it works on some machines and not others?

The movie "Ray" is not working with clone dvd. The preview window just plays a black screen. Does anybody know about this problem?

My computer locks up when I try placing Forgotten into my dvd drive. The little red fox turns light red, then locks up as soon as the fox turns dark red. Is anyone else having this problem. My dvd player is a memorex true 8x's.

my pc has got stuck thinking the cd has no name since i installed anydvd, it still shows the files. Please help.

Yesterday I brought online AnyDVD & CloneDVD2 for $59.00. Prior to that I uninstalled the above 2 software that I tried for 21 days. After receiving the keys for each software - I downloaded the above software from the Slysoft website. I have managed to activate the CloneDVD2 but the AnyDVD software says my trial time has expired and won't let me go any further. Can anyone help me.
