AnyDVD and Clone DVD problem

Everytime I use ANYDVD with CloneDVD. I cannot play the DVD files with powerDVD or my dvd player. The error I get is "This Player is incomaptible with the region marking on this disc.

Yet when I use AnyDVD with InstantCopy they play fine. I have tried both with region enhancement on and of.

Any Suggestions it only happens when I use the combination of AnyDVD and CloneDVD.

Ps tried with DVD2one took an 1 1/2 to do a dull movie with anydvd.

DVD Decryper 12 mins dvd2one around 25 minutes. AnyDVD definitely going in my Scrap Heap..

As soon as i deactivate anydvd clonedvd burns like a pro.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Do you have any IDE Busmaster driver inbstalled from VIA, NVIDIA, Intel?
If yes - now is the time to get rid of them

AnyDVD seems not to work correctly on your system. Any IDE Busmaster drivers installed?

But if i remove it than the speed of the ripping will decrease dramatically. Is there any way to do this without loosing any speed?

Thanks for the reply

Thank you for your time Olli, i will try to help as much as i can with this one because its very strange. Listen to this...

I just toasted another Yuden DVD -r (my 7th one) so i decided tobuy a DVD + rw so i will stop ruining my dvd's. Guess what... it worked fine. So this is very strange, with the dvd-r and anydvd disabled clonedvd works fine(i've burned over 30 dvd's). With anydvd activated and the same media i get the error and with anydvd activated and phillips dvd+rw it works fine.

Very bizarre dont you think?

DVD Decrypter does not transcode. I have a test machine with the Intel Application Accelerator; with this driver, in Win9x, you lose control of DMA settings, it's unreliable and is a hangover from Win95 (you remember that front-end for a GUI?) On my PIII-933 with XP SP1 (fully patched and waxed), DVD Decrypter, too, takes only 14 minutes for a big DVD like Gladiator (main movie only + DTS). If you uninstall the Accelerator and then install just the Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility Ver.# 5.0 from here, you might actually find some performance improvement

problems with Anydvd + clonedvd

Problems with AnyDVD + clonedvd, actually with the title GHOST DOG. Although the fox get red, and start clonedvd, it say "cant copy css protected..." but, with all the other titles i tried, no problems (at least till the menus).

The problems is that this title have a strange protection:

even without anydvd installed, the files can be copied to the harddisk directly from the dvd, without any ripping software... but there is something definitively wrong with them!

dvd2one crashes when i try to shrink it...

instantcopy says that the dvd is css protected
(even if files are already on the harddisk!)

And i didnt tried DVDShrink (i dont use this software, i dont like how it manages compression ratio...)

Maybe a new kind of protection?

Works fine...

Why would this not work with 1.1.6.1 though
1.1.7.1 has a changed I/O subsystem. The older version had a bug, which caused AnyDVD to havoc.

AnyDVD is a problem here as well: both with latest Nero (version 5.10.0.45) and Copy2CD/DVD (version 2.2.4) I get "Media not present" errors during writes of CD-RW or CD-Rs with my Sony DRU510A (firmware 1.0a and 1.0c) as long as AnyDVD is switched on... no problem while I burn DVDs (whatever type)... AnyDVD and DVD-Audio

One more observation on the latest AnyDVD 1.3.2.2:

ANyDVD seems to have a problem getting along with DVD-Audio

when I start Creative Media Player for DVD-Audio (latest XP version for Audigy 2 Platinum) while AnyVD is active with a DVD-Audio in the CD-ROM makes Media-Player for DVD-Audio hang (already when inserting the DVD-AUdio the fox shortly greys out, but the hang happens when Creatives DVD-Player attempts to play the DV-Audio)

no such problem if ANyDVD is switched off

I don't have any kind of accelerator in my system. MY xp is fully updated.

Still what does that have to do with CloneDVD and ANYdvd creating unplayable DVD's even if I use powerdvd?? Why the region error???

I know DVD Decrypter doesn't transcode...but it definitely does a better job in handling the decryption of DVD's than ANyDVD.

Weird, I agree.
Can you try to set the default region in AnyDVD to the region of the original disc?
Does it work now?

I think these problems must be System dependant, I am having none of the above problems on Windows 2000 with AnyDVD 1.3.2.2 and CloneDVD 1.1.7.1

I don't say this to goad you as I know it is small comfort to find out 'I'm-all-right-jack' when it all goes Tits-Up on your Copy, but there has got to be something that is causing this non standard output to your DVD,

I am using Datawrite (Ritek G04 Purple dye) DVD-R discs, they are not the cheapest by a long way, but I have had one bad disc out of 50 so far 3 coasters total

1 was my firewall shutting win down mid burn,
1 was CloneDVD locking up for no reason,
1 very bad quality disc, burned but then wouldn't play all the way through, and it had noticable bubbles at the edge,

but every other disc burned with (AnyDVD / CloneDVD) has played perfect on my PC two other systems and three different standalone players,

so it could be a combination of your Media, the Movie you are burning, some other software running in the background causing a clash, the way your hardware is setup,

when some people are having problems and others are not it can be quite hard to track the problem down, try booting your system with no other programs loaded during rip / burn,

make sure there are no AV, Firewall, Office Toolbars etc, and don't have your internet connection running, if you still have problems, make sure you are not buying cheap media, I have seen (from over 9 years of CD burning) where a batch of CDs has gone off half way through, you get to a certain disc in the pile and they are shite after this, or where Pioneer (which used to be my fave disc) started buying cheaper ones,

people here will try to help you help yourself but we are not miracle workers

Olli,

This is my scenario so far.
DVD used Start Trek Next Generation Season 3 Disc1

I used AnyDVD 1.3.2.4 And the latest CloneDVD.

Full DVD mode with region enhanced on checked---Got the region error. wont play on Powerdvd or my player

I then Did 1 episode from the DVD it played fine on both.
____________________________________________________

I am now trying the full DVD again setting the region to 1 US and Canada.

Once Again full DVD mode will not Play on either.
If I just do 1 episode it plays on both.

On full DVD mode I get "The player is incomaptible with the region marking of this Disc"

If I use Ifoedit to fix the region it works.

Ah, you mean this isn't a message of PowerDVD in a dialog boc, you see this message in the movie window?

If yes - enable AnyDVD and set the default region correctly while playing back the copy. Use newest AnyDVD.

Olli,

Maybe you misunderstood me I am playing the files created by clonedvd from my hardrive. They just wont play when I use Anydvd and Clonedvd....

If I create an Iso file with DVD Decrypter and mount it. I then run Clonedvd against the virtual drive...all the files play fine.

So I then tried InstantCopy with AnyDVD on the same StarTrek episodics and they won't play. So there must be some kind of protection that ANYDVD cannot handle on these DVD's....because DVDDecrypter handles it fine.
