Re: Pirates of the Caribbean 2

I have DVDshrink / AnyDVD / CloneCD which has worked fine backing up my DVD's until this one, Pirates of the Caribbean 2. I normally either rip with CloneCD or re-author with DVDshrink, but both these failed on a 32bit machine and a 64bit machine (both AMD) using a Pioneer DVD writer and a NEC writer. What I found worked was ripping it with AnyDVD and then ripping that with DVDshrink. I then wrote that to a 4.7GB DVD with Microburner (took ages). For curiosity, I then tried to copy and rip this with CloneCD but it failed, just as with the original movie DVD. Hope this helps.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean 2

anydvd and clonedvd2 have no issues backing up this movie including its main menu, you must of had a old version ALWAYS update anydvd as this is the key to crack new copy protected dvds.

Try AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. Do not select the 2 channel audio.

Anydvd doesn't have any problem with the region 1 version of this disc, period.
And you can take that to the bank.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean 2

I was able to copy the files to my hard drive but when I opened it in Shrink got an error.

Processed the files through VOB Blanker and burned scussfully.

With Anydvd running on my toolbar, I just opened the region 1 disc directly from within Shrink and ripped an ISO from Shrink. No problems. I didn't need to use FixVTS, Vobblanker, or anything else.

I dunno why you're ripping first to the hard drive (if you're using Anydvd ripper first, you shouldn't unless you can't get it work any other way).

Anydvd 6.1.0.6 + Clonecd = no problems
Anydvd 6.1.0.6 + Clonedvd2 = no problems
Anydvd 6.1.0.6 + Shrink = no problems

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean 2

The latest version of anyDVD is 6.1.1.4 which is suppose to fix alot of things. Try that with the latest CloneDVD2. Well that's what I was told about anyDVD latest version. I could be wrong.

You are transcoding if you're compressing using Nero Recode.

You can't get a 1:1 rip using Nero Recode, since Recode will not preserve the original layer break position.

Nero Recode from Nero 6.x versions has a known issue when there is more than one drive in a system: you must import the disc using the burner. Nero Recode from Nero 7.x versions doesn't have this problem.

Instead of just saying "works for me," post your drive model and firmware.

If you have the problem, also post your drive model and firmware
.

My drive that has the problem: LiteOn 20A1H, firmware LL06

My drive that doesn't have the problem: Panasonic LF-D200, firmware A150

I hear you. I have seen drives which have problems at the layer break. These were Pioneer DVD ROMS if I remember correctly.
Maybe the Lite-On has a similar problem. I don't have this drive, so I can't check.

Pelvis Popcan -

Your posting to say the least is Over The Top and an immature waste of Forum bandwidth.

If you believe you have some type of problem with your LiteOn 20A1H DVD Burner suggest visiting the CD Freaks LiteOn Burner Forum (http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=44) which is the appropriate Forum to discusses problems with LiteOn DVD Burners.

No. I won't stop saying this. What I'm stating is true. It's a known issue with Recode that was released with Nero 6.x versions, which Nero techs have admitted to me.

You might be having a problem with your drive as a reader, but what I stated is true.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean 2

Wow, even after Slysoft responds saying they are aware that there is a problem, people attack me.

Unbelievable.

BeLooken, your post is so ridiculous it's not even funny. Wasting the forum bandwidth?!?!? With a 24 K gif on my own webspace? And no, posting in the LiteOn forum would be the inappropriate place to discuss this, as this is a problem with AnyDVD and certain drives and/or firmware. What would you expect the Liteon forum to do about it?

Over the top? There is an issue with AnyDVD and some drives and firmware, yet everyone seems to be ignoring this, and telling people that the problem is with a bad disc, bad drive, or something other than what it is.

Webslinger, what you are saying may be true, but it's not applicable to this issue.
