Re: No Disc is present in Drive D:! yes i restarted straight away. i think i may have found the problem though. i went into device manager and had a look at the IDE ATA/AAP controlers and i had an error message saying that my transter mode had been downgraded because of excessive transter errors. i changed it back and it seems to be working ok so far.

Re: No Disc is present in Drive D:! I am having the same problem and get the same error message. "no disc in drive D" I read how you fixed the problem and I do not have that error on my machine. When I first started to use ANYDVD in the information window it would say : Blank Disc in drive D". Now when i use Clone DVD when it come to writting the disc is says " No writeable media in drive" and ejects the discs. Before all the updates it worked OK. I have even reinstalled all of the software that came with my computer helped. I have tried other software programs to burn the discs and I get the same error message. Does any one have any sujections as to what has happened. Last edited by Pat49; 08-02-2006 at 03:28. Reason: To add more information

Re: No Disc is present in Drive D:! Just to let you know that I have solved my problem by installing a new CD/DVD burner as the old one worked for the CD and not the DVD. This is something to rember when trying to fix problems. Yes, I know that I am answering the same question it two spots. I thought since i put it in two spots I should answer it in two spotes. This I learned was wrong and I will not put it in two spots again. Thanks, Pat

Re: No Disc is present in Drive D:! I too have this problem . . . After a long and protracted seek, my computer DVD player/burner times out and reports “no disc present”. Invariably, this occurs on discs with ARccOS protection. Some discs are okay (Lady & Tramp Platinum, and others) while others exhibit this problem (Harold Lloyd Comedy Collection, and others) Have tried both AnyDVD v.5.9.4.1 and DVD Region +CSS free v.5.9.7.2 to strip protection. Same problem. Have tried 2 different computer DVD drives; an internal GWA-4040B, and an external GSA-2166D USB. Same problem. All discs play fine on my standalone Zenith and Pioneer TV players. All discs are brand new, fresh from the shrink-wrap. I have shutoff autoplay/virus checkers/firewalls/etc. I do not have InCD installed. *I’m stumped, any help would be most appreciated. Thanking you in advance, ----------------------------- XP Home Edition SP2 AnyDVD v5.9.4.1 DVD Region +CSS Free v5.9.7.2 GWA-4040B Internal GSA-2166D USB external Standalone Zenith DVB312 Standalone Pioneer DVR310 Region 1 US

Re: No Disc is present in Drive D:! Laughing_Jelly, Ya, but you may not like the answer. I don't think your issue has to do with different copy protections. Assuming you are using a desktop computer rather than a laptop: I think a different drive configuration would improve your backup process read/write reliability. Putting your DVD ripper drive and your DVD burner drive both on your computer motherboard's internal IDE channels will produce less problems than using externally attached DVD drives. And, instead, put your other hard disk drives onto external attachments rather than your DVD drives. The only HDD you really have to have internally is your C:/ drive which has Windows on it. Here is a pretty reliable internal IDE setup for making backups. BTW, never put the burner and the ripper on the same IDE channel ribbon. IDE0 Master HDD (Windows OS & perhaps your Programs) IDE0 Slave DVD-ROM (Ripper) IDE1 Master DVD-RW (Burner) IDE1 Slave HDD (a second HDD for any reason) Whisperer
