As you can see in my previous post I have downloaded the beta and it works great. I only backed up one movie on the fly and I am impressed with the results, I would buy it now if the "Promotion" is in effect.
You should have received a promotion code for CloneDVD "mobile" recently by email... right? Well, I am not supposed to tell... but you should try this code when ordering CloneCD.

I did recieve that e-mail but I do not have it as Clone Mobile is not for me at the moment, I have no devices to use it with and I do not have the Promo Code anymore, a IM would greatly appreciated since I do own liscenses of Clone DVD and AnyDVD. Thankyou James.

Excuse me, but this argument is plain stupid. They did it, because they couldn't make it work otherwise. Why would you want to preserve the layer break position when you have to change the disc anyway? With CloneDVD you can specify exactly what you want on Disc 1 or Disc 2. You can put the main feature on disc 1 (if it fits), and the extras on disc 2. You can leave the menu, extras and the first third of the movie on Disc 1 and put the last 2 thirds of the movie on disc 2 without menus. If the movie fits "almost" on a single disc, you can even compress it a little bit. Nobody will see the difference from the original with 85%-100% on the Quality Bar. And guess what CloneDVD is ... also almost 3 year years old.
DVD-X-Copy *never* was a good program. It was only a big marketing bubble.

I love you guys. Oh wait, didn't I already give you a hard time about getting a room? ROFMLAO! I had bought CloneCD WAYYYYY back when elby owned it and as such I don't think my license is supported by slysoft anymore, so, I will also have to consider this purchase. Like, right now.

I did, but, until the new version I didn't see the value in it exactly. Now I get it. I also just (re)purchased it(I had a license for 3.x back when elby owned it but that's no longer valid) and then went onto newegg and got myself a 10 pack of Verbatim DVD+R DL's for 25 bucks and a 8 dollar rebate. I'll be a happy boy for a while I think.

Where do you live Samurai, Staples has them on sale (MKM001) Verbatim DL+ media for 19.99 for a 10 pack and they have the MKM003 for 22.99 for a 10 pack. I burned the MKM003 at 8x, the layer break was the only point when I scanned the disc that I had a problem with but the disc played fine.

OK - Let me see if I understand this (I'm a little dense tonight)....

I can now use CloneCD to copy a DVD-9 to DVD-9 and it will work as well as copying using DVD Decrypter/ImageBurn (putting the layer break in the correct position)?

Well, I just got home from work and read that my favorite backup boss says my comment is stupid. You know from all my previous posts that I love CloneDVD2 and Elby/Slysoft and also your deep involvement in these threads. I guess it does read a bit flip but I thought that would be OK amongst friends. I've been a CloneDVD user for around two and a half years and my usage jumped higher when Elby added the split feature. It was not my intention argue, just to suggest. Nor to insult you or CloneDVD.

When I split, I would like to do it on the layer break for exactly the reason that I then don't have to juggle titlesets manually. It's much easier to have layer1 on disk1 and layer2 on disk2. No fuss, everything fits nice and tidy, especially when you have a two hour movie with only 12 huge chapters and extras. If both original layers are packed with extras I want to keep, sometimes it's a tough squeeze without dumping something. Although in certain situations I do like to manually move or remove some TS's. But not often, because I bought over 1700 DVD originals since the first DVD was released in 1997 and I had alot of catching up to do to protect that investment once you and other companies made that possible. I started using CloneDVD alot more, during this task, when Elby added and then refined the split feature. Thank you, by the way. You should see the shelving I had to buy! Each backup is right in front of the original movie DVD, all on ten 6-tier, 12" deep units. Anyway, simple splitting was good for me for this big effort. That job is now done(!) and I am only backing up my new purchases from my Amazon "supplier". I expect that the new break indicator in AnyDVD will be of assistance in visualizing my splits; then again, my splitting days will soon be ending with CloneCD's new capabilities!

Not many newer movies will fit on one disk and I don't compress more than 5% or so, and that only do that on special features disks, not the main movie. That's just my personal preference for viewing via progressive output on my HD Widescreen. I have found all too often that I need to include the menu on both split disks because, as you know, with some movies, the subtitles and audio tracks are matrixed through the menu structure and don't operate correctly if the menu is not preserved. Hope we're still friends.

Re: New Version AnyDVD 5.8.4.1.

well yeah, I didn't want start an argument though, I only suggested a feature if they can put a logo or something at the end of the disk saying Insert Disc 2 like DVDFab does, I tried their trial version, that's how I know, I usually do main movie all the time but even with Main Movie some movies still go under 60% compression

Re: New Version AnyDVD 5.8.4.1.

i think there are a lot of other functional features that can be added to clonedvd2 before they need a graphic that says "insert disc2"

i mean...if it stops in the middle, you sort of know there's got to be a second disc, right?
