well, at least with CloneDVD2 this movie (Mr. & Mrs. Smith) has not been a problem even with AnyDVD 5.8.3.1 - is there a difference in how CloneDVD does read the files compared to the windows explorer???

You're talking about R2, right? Cause the R1 release has a different protection(simply ArCCOS) on it.

Anyways, there isn't a problem with R2 using 5.8.3.1!

Just checking. Yea, I don't know. They must have put that fix in for a reason. I guess the lesson is, use CloneDVD with AnyDVD and you won't see very many problems.

I don't currently have any problems copying my movies with AnyDVD/DVD Shrink/Recode 2.

So far of all the posts about these claimed problems, I have copied the same movies listed WITH NO PROBLEMS.

You could always hope for a "fix" on Shrink and Recode, but don't hold your breath.

I have not intalled 5.8.4.1 yet. I usually wait a few days while reading posts on cdf.

But how does one make use of layer break position information in AnyDVD? Don't we need this information in CloneDVD rather than AnyDVD?

Re: New Version AnyDVD 5.8.4.1.

SlySoft, I wanted to thank you for expanding the discount for your programs with the release of Mobile. I told my brother to check out your software while I looked for a "deal" and he was so pleased with what he saw he added CloneCD as well. Not only that, I raved about your support and updates and 8 hours after he purchased, you updated.

You sure make me look smart.

In case of R2, you must always specify the release country. There are many R2 versions, all with different protections. Example:

R2 (Swiss german) = Sony Arccos, latest version
R2 (German) = Settec Alpha

Both versions only have english and german sounddtracks. Maybe Austria will have a different version as well?

The UK version probably has only English soundtrack, the Italian, French .... versions have dubbed soundtracks as well.

Not to forget Japan, they have Region 2 NTSC.

Region 1 is usually easier, but even here it is possible to have two different version (US, Canada). Not to mention the "Full Screen" vs "WideScreen" versions and the "Rated" vs. "Unrated" versions.

What gives? When talking about a DVD, always specify precisely what DVD you are talking about. Otherwise discussions here are pretty pointless.

The next version of CloneCD (to be released soon!) will copy the layer break position from source to destination if you use DVD+R DL media (DVD-R DL media does not allow to set the layer break position, so don't use it).

Having AnyDVD display the total size and the layer break position of the source disc is just "nice to have" and you can check, if your image copier (CloneCD, of course!) copied it correctly.
