AnyDVD Discuss, Nasty Anydvd 4581 file on Emule at Copy Movie forum; Now my final issue is trying to retrieve all of the deleted mp3 and rar files on a 300GB drive. I tried using Handy Recovery but it found didily squat, well nothing recognizable, will the file names be in tact? the file sizes look pretty small to be an mp3

Now my final issue is trying to retrieve all of the deleted mp3 and rar files on a 300GB drive. I tried using Handy Recovery but it found didily squat, well nothing recognizable, will the file names be in tact? the file sizes look pretty small to be an mp3 or rar. What are some other file recovery programs that are stronger?

Re: Nasty Anydvd 4581 file on Emule

hee peeps,

found a free recovery tool which is called PC Inspector File Recovery and it's totally FREE. Do an ixquick on it (I don't support gooooogle ) and you'll find the website. As with most recovery tools, run it from another disk because you can accidentally overwrite the deleted files. I'm glad I still had an old 10gb disk left. Starting to recover tomorrow. Think I haven't found all lost data but any file I can recover is a bonus. The prob is I think as mentioned elsewhere in this thread, I have to make a macro to rename all files. Great, 1000 files with same name different no. Would it help if I used a proggy which can read the idtags from the mp3 files?
(everytime I start up some progs I get annoyed cause of the missing music, there were intro mp3's )

Had this to if you have and extra hard drive use the bad one as a slave and move all mp3, movies, and what ever you won’t to the new one and redo the dead hard drive all done.

I only got an external harddrive. but there is already a lot of mp3 and stuff on it. I am afraid if I connect this to the infected pc that it will delete everything on that too.
besides I got a pc that had xp installed, I don't have the cd of it. therefore, how would I put xp back then?

you really do get what you pay for....what's the old expression..."something for nothing"......but then again, most of the time that equates to "nothing for something"....paid and registered for all slysoft products...the right thing to do...for continued support and development...

@ crASHed,

That is a disingenuous statement implying that original copies of AnyDVD software program obtained in a legal manner contain a virus. Legally acquired SlySloft software programs downloaded from the SlySoft (http://www.slysoft.com) do not contain any viruses. Implying that legally acquired SlySoft software programs contain virus is slanderous and I fully hope that SlySoft sues you.

The true fact is that you acquired this virus by downloading an illegal pirated Cracked Warez version of AnyDVD.

I have absolutely no pity for a thief that uses illegal pirated software. You fully deserve all the grief and whoa that comes your way in attempting to acquire software illegally.

Best Regards,
bjkg

Why is this thread still open? It's outlived any thing usefull, and just shows what can happen when you obtain files from third party sources and not the official site.

Moral of the story, trust your warez buddies and look what happens, you get your just rewards.

Re: Nasty Anydvd 4581 file on Emule

all,
is someone have already sucess to recovery all mp3 deleted by the virus Nopir.c?
From my side all files are there but the songs is not corresponding to the name!!! ((
It seem that the virus attack the IDtag of the mp3 files...
I tried several mp3 repair tool , restore and recory tools ( more than 20) and all is unsuccessfull!!
And for movies it is worst, 90% of datas are corrupted!!! No way to come back properly!
Is anyone have an idea how the virus delete those files ( for sure it is not a single delete) and how to restore them?
regards

Re: Nasty Anydvd 4581 file on Emule

Yes I used handy recovery 2.0 and got them all back. However 1 drive was near full and had some files overwriten by new files.

The faster you can recover and remove the NOPIR worm the better chance you will have to recover your files. It also helps if your drive was not near full.

To aid in removal of the WORM I have writen a small script. Look here under XP downloads It is easy to get rid of.

I got this virus and I manualy scanned it with AVG before opening it.
I was also running the new Microsoft antispyware beta which also failed to detect the hooks it was installing.

Re: Nasty Anydvd 4581 file on Emule

My computer went belly up 5 - 6 weeks ago. Neither I or my local computer store could figure out what virus I picked up. Ended up replacing the whole drive. Reading this thread makes me believe this is the virus I had. What I would like to be able to do, if anyone knows how, is to clone my new hard drive, disconnect the cloned drive, and have this drive available as a instant replacement for my current hard drive if anything like this happens again. I would only need a 40G hard drive and probably get one real cheap if I look around.

Thanks

Getting seriously off topic here - I would use Norton Ghost - but I think you would be far better starting a new thread - maybe in the Newbie forum, to get better advice.

Re: Nasty Anydvd 4581 file on Emule

"Intelligence Resource Program","Cyberbob 33 BX","The French Hacker" as well as a picture of a shady looking character and words saying "F*** the Pirates..MP3..Games ETC!!!

This virus is in your BIOS!!! It puts Demo like mode in BIOS!!!

How to turn off: Restart and press F1 to enter BIOS Setup Utility
Move over to Power option then down to "XD" (Right side pg says"No-Execution Page Protection Technology")
Disable "XD" option
Restart saving changes
Now it won't run!!!

A BIOS update will probably remove it...I forgot all about it till I saw this thread!! I've got a new BIOS update that I need to install anyways...Let you know if it removes it!

BIOS update did not remove...actually if I wouldn't have reentered the BIOS setup again, on the restart after updating, it would have ran..just disabled again and have no problems.
