maybe a problem with the movie click...

Hi, I have a concern about the back-up that I did of my movie "click"
I backed it up using "any dvd" and "dvd decrypter" on ISO READ mode
when it almost finished backing it up. it show me this:

W 23:56:35 On-the-fly IFO/BUP file patching failed!
W 23:56:35 File Name: VTS_34_0.BUP

I 23:56:53 Average Read Rate: 8,096 KB/s (5.8x) - Maximum Read Rate: 52,856 KB/s (38.2x)

then I burned it on a blank dual layer media (memorex) to be exact.
it worked fine in my dvd player and my computer too.
maybe I don't have to worry about it since it's working. but. it bugs me that it showed me that log. HELP PLEASE!

Try anydvd 6.0.8.0 and clonedvd 2.9.0.1.

Re: maybe a problem with the movie click...

yep. I'm using the newest version of "any dvd"
but to my undestanding "clone dvd 2" does not do, bit by bit back up, does it???

Re: maybe a problem with the movie click...

Anydvd just decrypts the drive / disc you'll need a dvd copying software to copy the movie to a blank DVD.

I did that, I used "nero 7" to burn it on to a dual layer blank DVD (memorex)
and like I said it worked fine in the dvd player and computer.
but the log. file from DVD DECRYPTER is what bugs me. any idea what that mean:

In other words, if an IFO file is copied and a BUP file is not, then copy the IFO file over the BUP file. And vice versa.

Since your dvd player plays fine, I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: maybe a problem with the movie click...

Memorex discs are a bad choice, You can use clonedvd2 or dvd shrink with anydvd running and all will be well Just set up dvd shrink to call up nero to burn if you go that route. Clonedvd2 has its own engine and there is a free fully functional 21 day trial of it too so you can try before you buy.

Chagero -

Concerning DL Media ->

At this point in time only Verbatim (Mitsubishi Kagaku Media) MKM001 or MKM003 is the only DL Media that constantly provides quality error free results. Any other DL Media should be consider suspect and should be avoided.

You are concerned with your Log File information but I would be more concerned with your choice of DL Media. A quick Forum Search concerning Memorex DL Media will reveal the general conscious is that Memorex DL Media absolute garbage DL Media and should avoided.

If you are using DL Media the AnyDVD-CloneCD repeat AnyDVD-CloneCD software combination produces excellent results.

Re: maybe a problem with the movie click...

VTS 35 is a bogus VTS. Just crap that Sony puts there on later ARccOS protected DVDs to fill up the space. If you play your DVD - you will noticed that title 39 is never played. Also VTS 34 is a fake VTS on that DVD.

Re: maybe a problem with the movie click...

cynthia_old,
Well ... I'm hoping you stick around cdf! That kind of knowledge and detailed information in future answers will be very welcome on these threads. What happens if you use your player's remote control to select Titles Sets TS 34 & 35 & 39 for playback? ...a dead black screen? ...a bounce-back to the DVD menu?

Best regards,
Whisperer

Re: maybe a problem with the movie click...

Tried with one of my old Sony discs and I could not jump to such a title. Guess it's restricted in the DVD that you are not allowed to jump to such a title.

Re: maybe a problem with the movie click...

Bogus VTS often do not have a VMG Title defined, so you can't jump to it. Even if it is defined, it's not referenced. It could also be that a Title Play PUO is enabled so jumping between titles is not allowed.

Re: maybe a problem with the movie click...

In my case I tried on another DVD as I don't have the Click DVD. The one I used was The original DVD of Mirrormask RC2 Swedish. This one can't even be decrypted right during the rip as the CSS protection is messed up on the fake VTS.

Re: maybe a problem with the movie click...

I have the original Click DVD and it got an error on copying the DVD with DVD Decryptor and AnyDVD 6.0.8.0.

File Name: VTS_34_0.BUP
Size: 145,408 bytes
Reason: Invalid IFO / BUP file.

I am going to make a copy of the ISO that was created with OneClick DVDPro and see what is up. I suspect that this is some copy protection that was missed by AnyDVD.

Posting only half of the anydvd window doesn't help us help you. I have used anydvd 6.0.8.0 and clonedvd2 and it was a success.
