madagascar no memory?

i tried to rip madagascar and it started up fine till about 50 percent or so then it gave me a virtual memory problem, did this several times and says not sufficient virtual memory. this dvd had 4 protections on it.Could this be a new protection that fools the pc into thinking it has insufficient memory? I use dvd shrink which i swear by and the latest anydvd. could use help on this one.

thanx

Re: madagascar no memory?

The solution to your problem is to use AnyDVD 5.6.1.1 and if you're still getting the error, copy the VIDEO_TS folder from the DVD to your hard drive and then DVD Shrink against the folder on the hard drive. If you'd like to avoid these annoyances in the future, I suggest checking out CloneDVD2 from Slysoft. You can get a trial version on the slysoft website. It works very well with AnyDVD.

Re: madagascar no memory?

Thanks to some earlier advice I was able to copy Madagascar by using VObblanker.....
Open up anydvd 5.6.1.1, insert dvd, use vobblanker with default settings and create a folder to rip to, when finished direct Dvd shrink to that folder and burn..

Re: madagascar no memory?

If you use AnyDVD 5.6.1.1 Vob Blanker isn't entirely necessary but it won't harm anything. That's how I rip most of my movies these days. Works extremely well IMO.

Re: madagascar no memory?

I had the same problem with Sky High. I use the latest version of AnyDVD (5.6.3.1) and DVDShrink 3.2.0.15 for most of my back ups all was fine until I tried to back up Sky High, about half way thru I get an out of memory error, surprised and a little frustrated I used DVDDecryptor to rip the movie to the hard drive then used Shrink to back up the main movie with no problems. I'm not really sure what caused that to happen but after some searching I see I'm not the only one to have that problem.

Re: madagascar no memory?

@tony7914

The memory error is caused by a structural issue with the new Ripguard protection used on many new titles including Sky High, Madagascar, Valiant, and several others. DVD Shrink requires the DVD structure to be remapped before it can be processed. Usually you only need to drag the VIDEO_TS folder from the DVD to the hard drive if using AnyDVD. Then use DVD Shrink to process the files on the hard drive.
