Just because you can doesn't mean everyone can. As I said earlier, I DO have both current full versions AND a new Sony burner. So YOU get a life...

If it's only one movie I'll either not back it up or try another version. One movie ain't worth the trouble.

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

Regarding Lords of Dogtown,
I have AnyDVD running inthe background while ripping with CloneDVD. When CloneDVD finished ripping, and I went to the Burn screen, I got the "Oh Nooo!!" cow icon.

"Directory not found D:/VIDEO_TS" was the message

Does ANYDVD just do it's thing automatically?
I couldn't find a start button or anything??
Sorry, read the FAQ and tutorial for AnyDVD, and it doesn't seem to tell me what I am asking.

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

You need AnyDVD running in the background (Lil fox in taskbar..lower right of screen). It will auto-detect the dvd inserted and remove the necessary protection ths making it able to be backed up with programs such as Slysofts CloneDVD or DVD Shrink.

Ok, gotcha, thanks. I had AnyDVD running in background, ran LOD thru DVDDecrypter, then DVDShrink, then burned with Nero 6.000000 and worked like a charm!!!!
There is a slight...maybe 5-10 second delay after the Sony intro, and th emovie, but plays flawlessly
Thanks AnyDVD/Slysoft, and all you guys

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

I just copied LOD myself (Region1 - Movie Only) and no problems whatsoever using CloneDVD v.2.8.5.1 and AnyDVD v.5.4.4.1. Going to try the whole movie now and see if I have any problems with it.
Code:
English Language only:
Just movie = 100%
Whole DVD = 62%
Code:
Summary for drive G: (AnyDVD 5.4.4.1)
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1

Media is a Data DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite)

Video DVD (or CD) label: DVD_VIDEO
Media is CSS protected!
Video Standard: NTSC
Media is locked to region(s): 1!

RCE protection not found.
Found & removed wrong DVD structure!
Found & removed structural copy protection (Arccos, Puppetlock)!
Found & removed Autorun from Video DVD!
Found & removed 2 bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

That delay is a result of how DVD Decryptor handles the ArCCOS protection. It replaces the messed up sectors with fake ones so you see that delay. It's nothing to worry about.

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

No delay in my copy made with SlySofts CloneDVD. I also copied the whole DVD including Menu's and Previews and it worked flawless.

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

Did you do the initial rip with DVD Decryptor or AnyDVD, though? And I have a feeling CloneDVD does things a bit differently than DVDShrink, as well, which might also have something to do with the delays he's seeing. AFAIK, though, it has to do with the fake sectors that they use on ArCCOS that causes that. I personally have no issues either as I use AnyDVD with CloneDVD or DVD-RB, so, it's all good as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

When I tried Clone DVD, it ripped, but when I went to burn a disc, I got the "Oh Noooo", which means "No Gooo "

Used DVDdecrypter with AnyDVD running in background, then Shrink, then burned it with Nero, no probs

Just curious why people take that extra step to use Nero to burn. You can set Shrink to use Decrypter, come back a little while later and the burn is complete. That is assuming you have 2 drives, even still you can just switch to the blank and resume without going to Nero.

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

This movie was starting to really anger me , because i have made back-ups of all my movies except this one, but luckily for me, i hate it when something doesn't go my way. So here is what to do (atleast what worked for me) Run anydvd 5.4.4.1 or the newest version out, if thats not the newsest version. Next open up dvd decrypter and select mode FILE. Next go to TOOLS, SETTINGS, FILE MODE and make sure everything is checked except multi-angle processing then decrypt then shrink with dvd shrink and burn with what ever program you use to burn or forget dvd shrink and burn if u have DL DVDS and viola a working back-up with no protections. HOPE THIS WORKS FOR EVERYONE.
P.S. This was the "Unleashed Version"

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

I backed up my Region 1 Unleashed Lords Of Dogtown Unrated Extended Cut by ripping with DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.5.0 and shrink would open it up. I didn't use shrink on it though. I used Menu Shrink on it because I like to keep the menus and then PgcEdit to blank all VTS's except the main movie to get rid of all the extras and got it down to 3.8GB and burned it and it plays fine.

Hi,
I read where people use different methods..everyone has thier own, I use DVD Decryptor, then use Nero. Easy works everytime, and the quality? I can't tell the difference between the 9 layer and the 5 layer of nero. Good luck to you all

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

Howdy,

I encountered problems when trying to rip with DVDdecrypter so I tried DVDfab and was able to get through the rip without a problem. However I now have 5.X GB of stuff that DVDShrink says is too big to burn to a DVD??

I guess I missed something somewhere... I don't know that what I have is "good", but at least I was able to get it to my hard drive. Now I don't know what to do with what I have go to try and burn it to a DVD??

Thanks!

Umm... you're replying in the AnyDVD forum... to a post from October... asking if your DVDFab rip is any good?

Wrong place to post this, methinks.
