Is any of this what they need, or is it something else?

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

For those of you still having a problem, I'ts not AnyDVD. 5.4.4.1 works fine on this movie.

A few posts back I was having trouble with the lords of dogtown.

My issue (which may turn out to be your issue) was that my one month old Lite-On 16x DVD-ROM ripper didn't "like" the original. But my Pioneer AO5 burner, although a slow rip, did just fine.

Well now ... how many of us are using that Lite-On ripper?! Quite a few I'd say. So try the rip in your burner and see if you can get a backup. For any of you who do not know or have never done it, CloneDVD will make a backup just fine with only a single drive used to rip and burn. Just follow the screen prompts after the rip and insert a blank.

Best regards,
Whisperer

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

That's the way I always do it and I am using a brand new Sony DRU-800A burner. So it's definitely not my burner.

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

I just spoke with the manager at a local Blockbuster. He had problems just watching the Unleashed version, said it was freezing up and stuff. He also mentioned that the unleashed version was special for Blockbuster stores only, so that may be part of it.

Last night I just watched the Unleased - Unrated Extended version although I got my copy from Netflix. Humm... maybe Blockbuster bought Netflix when I wasn't looking.

And to Slysoft - kudos - you are MAGNIFICENT! Having a software update within 24 hours of release of new problem disc is just incredible! NOBODY else on this planet can match this level of reponse - even virus killers!

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

The problem appears to be when the extended version is used with DVDDecrypter and ANYDVD. It appears at about 4gb into the copy process when decrypter encounters an error reading that maybe CLONEDVD doesn't see. So in other words the problem was never resolved if you don't use CLONEDVD. Does CLONE provide ISO functions like DVDDecrypter?

If true and be design, this could be a very "sly" marketing move to direct a few more sales of Clone. Over time, more internal "handshaking" could be implemented in the two products such that you would really need both. humm... where do you buy stock in this company?

If using DVD Decrypter and AnyDVD together, you have to change certain settings in DVD Decrypter, otherwise AnyDVD is bypassed entirely. And I'm not surprised that DVD Decrypter alone can't handle this new Arccos.

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

Hi I have tried everything everybody here has suggested to no avail. AnyDVD does it's job, and DVD decrypter finishes, but when I go to get the file with DVD Shrink, I get the following error:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Invalid data in file "C:\DVD_VIDEO\VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_4.VOB"

Has anyone had this error? And what does it mean?

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

I'm pretty sure it's Sony's protection scheme base on including unreadable sectors on the original that stop BU software from going any further. Are you sure you have the very latest verion of AnyDVD? The problem is not AnyDVD unless the 2 different versions of this dvd release have different protections. Or there is something evil in the firmware of the DVD ROM drives we are being sold lately.

Re: Lords of Dogtown US Version

What I find most interesting about this thread - is the absence of a single comment saying someone was going to run out and buy this dvd as a result of all this nonsense.
