Email with thread, serial, zipped ifo's and a rough outline of problems and solution sent to support(AT)slysoft.com. Keep me posted if I need to do a hardware update etc...

Thanks All

Awesome. You APPEAR to have the latest firmware for your drive...the date on your seems wrong from what I found but the version is the same. So I'm not sure what's up with that exactly.

Thanks All
Please try http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=86829
and see if you can get the disc recognized by Anydvd without cycling the program on and off.

Thank you

This is not normal

with it disabled I could copy all of the files to my hard drive except for 3, vts_01_1.vob, vts_01_6.vob and vts_12_1.vob.
Normal

If I enable anydvd after the disc is recognized by my pc then I could copy those remaining 3 files.
Normal

Furthermore, after enabling anydvd 6.1.1.4 after disc was detected I could use clonedvd2 (trial) to compress to hard drive before burning.
Normal

Lastly, with anydvd disabled the disc could also be copied using dvddecrypter.
You should be able to do this with Anydvd enabled (provided it recognizes the disc).

Conclusion:

This isn't a new protection issue (so while sending the ifos doesn't hurt, doing so probably won't help as much as I thought it might earlier in the thread).

It could be a bug in Anydvd. Your drive could be dying. It could be firmware issue. It could be a driver issue. Regardless, Anydvd is not operating on your system properly.

No thanks. I am not following this advice until you answer the last post of this thread regarding why one should do this. My system is very stable, great gaming system, I do all of my web creation from this system and I do not want to f___ it up and have to do a norton ghost. I do appreciate the help and advice but without some solid reasoning other than try this try that and see if that is a work around then I'll pass. My system is not a beta tester for anydvd but if someone else feels frisky then go for it and let me know.

The source of that advice is Olli, the original author of Clonecd, Clonedvd2, and Regionkiller (which was the predecessor of Anydvd). He basically said if anything weird is happening, try doing it. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, then don't. It's possible the ide bus driver on your system is not functioning properly, which may account for why Anydvd is not recognizing discs properly for you until you cycle the program on and off. Uninstalling/deleting the driver and then simply rebooting automatically installs the driver again when Windows loads. This has helped a few Anydvd users in the past.

That said, I lean more heavily in the direction that the Liteon drive's firmware is not communicating well with Anydvd (or something on your system is interfering when Anydvd polls the firmware/drive to determine whether a disc is inserted). If I'm right, then reinstalling that driver won't help.

Regardless, as I stated before Anydvd is not functioning properly on your system, and the problem is not a new protection issue. If you're happy cycling the program on and off until a more suitable fix can be found for you, then so am I.

Then I suggest you contact Slysoft. The members have given you good advice, it is your choice ofcourse not to follow it. So I guess the only alternative is to contact the company directly. I hope you get your problem solved with this disc asap.

My drive recognizes almost 99.9% of disc, it is only this disc since the 6.1.1.3 update. This is not an every disc issue.

See previous post, the issue was resolved. The only current issue is whether it is some glitch in anydvd.

This issue is "resolved" by you cycling Anydvd on and off.
Anyway, good luck to you.

On a strangely similar Anydvd "on" and "off" situation (due to what is suspected to be a firmware issue) . . .

visit http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.ph...9&postcount=32
The status changes despite Anydvd still functioning.

I didn't say it was. I said Anydvd isn't working on your system properly. Anyway, I'm done with this thread. Good luck
