Legend of Zorro
With any dvd running in background The programs Nero Recode and VobBlanker will not copy the movie correctly
On Nero it Freezes up the Nero to (not responding) status and Vobblanker Reports entirely 2 many errors.
It was however correctly copied with DVD shrink 3.2 of course with Anydvd running in background.

Does anyone know why nero freezes up sometimes?

probably because nero recode is NEVER updated.

try sending a complaint to nero and see how long it takes them to get back to you...I wouldn't hold your breath.

Nero as a whole has demonstrated it doesn't give a shit about recode users or the integrity of that part of the software suite.

a good alternative is freeware DVD Shrink. Shrink and Recode have the same developer, but with shrink you're not wasting your money on a program that's supposed to be supported. At least you know that it's no longer supported and don't have any false hopes.

plus, i've found the layout to be more intuitive even if it's slightly more complicated on teh surface than recode.

maybe i'm a little harsh on nero. ok, i am a little harsh on nero. and i don't have an explanation as to why VOB Blanker didn't work for you.

this just goes to show how important it is to have a variety of tools avilable to you.

you got your movie backed up, and that's the important thing, right!

not every program is goign to work 100% of the time on 100% of the movies somtimes for inexplicable reasons. to have some backup ammo and a little knowledge on how to use these backup programs is important so you can try a bunch of things if one doesn't work.

This is type of post is getting old and most newbies do not take the slightest trouble to search and research the problem

Legend of Zorro (2005) R1 NTSC ripped successfully with AnyDVD & DVD Decrypter. The main movie, menu, deleted scenes and the Dolby 5.1 track were small enough to fit on a DVD5 without compression.

Note that there is a unreferenced cell in the menu, that cell alone will shave off 600MB.

Ill have to recheck that.

I wanted to backup some of the extras... but movie only and menu bumped quality down to about 80 something percent,... take out the menu and it went back to 100%!!!! ... i was shocked to say the least

Same to me here, i just copy Zorro with the latest version of Any DVD running in background and DVD Shrink. Works perfectly!
