Jump directly to Title Menu - A_PRAIRIE_HOME_COMPANION - Club CDFreaks

This is the first DVD I've encountered where AnyDVD failed to find/jump to the title menu. I know this is a "use with care" feature, but hopefully this will help the fine folks at SlySoft to continually improve this feature.

RCE protection not found.
DVD structure appears to be correct.
Structural copy protection not found.
Changed firstplay: Jump directly to TitleMenu!
Found & removed Autorun from Video DVD!
Bad sector protection not found.
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

Maybe you could wait till the next release of AnyDVD. The 'improved' Jump to feature wasn't entirely added in this version even though the change log said so.

You can always use this guide if you want. Very easy to do once you've gotten the hang of it and if done right, works perfectly.

Thanks for the link linx05 - that's a new tool I'll enjoy playing with.

FYI - gettting identical results with 6.0.8.8. It continues to work perfectly otherwise.

I turned on logging and loaded the disk - the results are attached.

This feature does not work with all DVDs. They even display a warning dialog if you enable the feature.

Just for testing, have you tried previous versions of AnyDVD with that title? Do they work? Or do none of the recent releases work?

Would this be a case where IFO files are useful?

no........as it is stated "Jump directly to Main Movie" or Jump directly to Title Menu" may not work with some DVD titles.
It could even make the DVD unplayable.

IFO? Maybe. FixVTS? Not sure. Sorry the previous versions did not work right. I suppose of 6.0.8.0 did not work, 6.0.8.2 won't either.

Could just be that the menus are in some wacky order.

I remember when I started encoutering DVD's with audio-tracks sorta out of order so that when you ripped the disk you would end up with a commentary as the main track. Thankfully, DVD Shrink took care of that, but for a while it was a pain.

I use to use the 'Jump directly to Title Menu' most of the time with various rippers. But it is very hard to get it to work right. I proposed a way on the Digital-Digest forum but it was shut down (well more like they didn't understand it).

Use the guide I posted and it will work 100% all the time. As long as you do it properly.
