I notice someting curios in the report of anydvd of this movie.\

Found & removed 4 bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

And thiis the report of the copy of the movie

Summary for drive E: (AnyDVD 5.9.6.2)
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1

Media is a Data DVD.
Booktype: dvd+r (version 1), Layers: 1
Total size: 2239632 sectors (4374 MBytes)

Video DVD (or CD) label: Whenstrangercall
Media is not CSS protected.
Video Standard: NTSC
Media is region free.

RCE protection not found.
DVD structure appears to be correct.
Found & removed invalid VOBUs!
Changed firstplay: Jump directly to TitleMenu!
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Bad sector protection not found.
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

If you noticed Anydvd found invalid VOBus in the dvd+r copy
too. It appears that the invalid Vobus was not removed
completly. I sent the IFO files to slysoft. I dont have problems copying the movie.

Re: When a stranger calls anydvd report

Yes , I come across the also ,
and would use the AnyDVD"RIPPER" first
to remove invalid VOBUs!
The playback doesn't seem to be effected ,
but I would rather remove these from my back-up
........ when possible .

I have also found that enabling 1ClickDVD's CPRx is very effective
in 'Cleaning up" the back-up .

I had used the "RIPPER" on "When a Stranger Calls"
Summary for drive E: (AnyDVD 5.9.6.2)
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1
Media is a Data DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 1
Total size: 2258768 sectors (4411 MBytes)
Video DVD (or CD) label: STRANGERCALLS_RPR
Media is not CSS protected.
Video Standard: NTSC
Media is region free.
RCE protection not found.
DVD structure appears to be correct.
Structural copy protection not found.
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Bad sector protection not found.
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

Here's an example of the CPRx result
Both Back-ups were done with exactly the same settings
except for CPRx .....

First with > CPRx = OFF
Summary for drive F: (AnyDVD 5.9.6.2)
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1
Media is a Data DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 1
Total size: 2253392 sectors (4401 MBytes)
Video DVD (or CD) label: MUNICH
Media is not CSS protected.
Video Standard: NTSC
Media is region free.
RCE protection not found.
DVD structure appears to be correct.
Found & removed invalid VOBUs!
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Bad sector protection not found.
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

Now , with > CPRx = ON
Summary for drive E: (AnyDVD 5.9.6.2)
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1
Media is a Data DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 1
Total size: 2253424 sectors (4401 MBytes)
Video DVD (or CD) label: MUNICH_Cprx
Media is not CSS protected.
Video Standard: NTSC
Media is region free.
RCE protection not found.
DVD structure appears to be correct.
Structural copy protection not found.
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Bad sector protection not found.
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

Now , It has been said that CPRx
and AnyDVD's "Copy Protection based upon Unreadable Sectors"
may conflict with each other ,
But I'm finding , at least in my results ,
that CPRx seems to give AnyDVD a little extra "boost"

Anyway , It saves me the time of having to use the "RIPPER"
.......nice !

What version of AnyDVD do you have? You've told us nothing, so we cannot help.

Why should we have to read another thread to get your info? You need to provide the info (version, MOVIE TITLE, etc.) or better yet...

why didn't you just reply to that thread and update it?

Besides, the latest version of AnyDVD is 5.9.6.3

calcu, if i understand correctly ,you're not really looking for help, but for a comment form slysoft, correct?

have you tried sending your findings to support(at)slysoft(dot)com?

tha would be the best place to direct your inquiry rather than hope they stumble across a forum posting.
