Install of AnyDVD does not work - Club CDFreaks

Just downloaded AnyDVD and cannot make it work. When I run the setup file, (Ver. 5.5.4.1) all seems ok and the Icon appears on the desktop but nothing happens when I doubleclick the icon. No "Icon" appears in the tray.
What Should I be looking at to make it work?

AnyDVD - works in the BACKGROUND

So - what that means is it just sits there and waits for you to put in encrypted disc-

Did you read the readme? If not you should - as it will explain all this in some detail-

I realize that it "Workd in the Background" however, it is not active until you get the icon in the tray and you're supposed to get the icon in the tray by doubleclicking the icon on the desktop. I do not get the icon in the tray therefore, NOT active.

Yo-

Go to 'program' in the setting section check 'enable AnyDVD' and 'Autostart'

Again - do yourself a favor and read the 'readme'

As I mentioned before, I cannot start ANYDVD therefore, cannot go to program/setting/autostart.
I when to the folder where all the anydvd files are and there is no 'readme' file. However, there is a index.html file but it does not say much.
I even tried to start the program by running the exe file in the folder and nothing more happens.
I had a friend look at it ( he already has it running on his computer) and he cannot figure it out either.

Perchance have you curtailed all background activities when attempting to use AnyDVD. Also many anti-virus and packet writing programs also interfere with proper operation of AnyDVD. The following are examples of packet writing software programs –Drag-To-Disc, DirectCD, InCD, DLA (Drive Letter Access), CE Quadrant Just!Burn, FileCD, Sony abCD, InstantWrite, Backup4all, B's Clip, NeoClip, InstantBurn, Drag to Disc. This is not an extensive complete list, there are numerous others. Remove any and all packet writing software program from your computer.
