I too have had a problem and was using Anydvd and clone dvd. First try seemed to work but movie skipped a lot. Second and third try clone dvd would give error message. Had to put original on shelf and not let kids use as they tend to pile up discs and scratch them all to heck and back. I will try beta suggeated and let you know what happens tommorrow or later today.

Re: The Illusionist

I too am having trouble with "The Illusionist", when it is time to burn it says "Insufficient space on disk".??? When it starts it decompresses at 32% and it's only an hour and a half movie. What gives?

When you get the "Insufficient space on disk" error, try re-booting. Sometimes when I switch DVD's to burn a second one, my system will not refresh and sees my DVD burner as a CD. A re-boot will fix it, until the next time it happens.

That sounds a bit like a memory leak of some kind . . .

Re: The Illusionist

I am having problems with the Illusionist, night listener, and crank. Crank copies but when I play it in the dvd player it plays the commentary and not the movie. The other two will read but as soon as they go to burn I get a 'error copying to disk' message. I am using anydvd with I copy DVDs 2.

Re: The Illusionist

Rebooting doesn't help, and what is a memory leak? I haven't had any problems until this movie. I have Any DVD 6.1.0.2 and 1 copy dvd. Anydvd reads it fine and then it copy's to 100% ,then I get the message that there isn't enough space on my media? It's a hour and a half movie and a 2 hour disc.

This is not an anydvd issue.

Re: The Illusionist

Thanks for the reply. I tried SetupAnyDVD6106.exe last night and got the same result. Usually when I get a error like this the updated version of AnyDVD fixes it, but not this time for some reason. Any other ideas????? Thanks again.

Try selecting a different audio stream. All AnyDVD does is remove the protection , you have to check the correct audio stream with the software that you are using to write it with. Try CloneDVD2 from Elby/Slysoft.

It's pretty difficult to troubleshoot without having more information. Please answer these questions:
http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.ph...39&postcount=1

By the way . . .

1. The best way to rip using Anydvd is to use Clonedvd2. If you can't or are not willing to do that, this is how you rip using Anydvd:

2. With the latest version of Anydvd running, drag and drop the video_ts folder to your desktop using Windows Explorer. Alternatively, you don't need to rip at all and can just directly import the disc into whatever burning application you want, provided Anydvd is running in the background. You don't necessarily need to rip first at all. Not having to rip first at all is one major advantage of using Anydvd.

3. If you can't get what you want using #1 and #2 first, then you right click on the fox icon on your toolbar and select rip video-dvd to hard disk--but only if methods 1 and 2 fail first. This method uses an old version of FixVTS, which is often not required.

The ILLUSIONIST (Impossible to back up)

Mr Bundle is right........
I tried to back up that movie.. "The Illusionist" for the last 3 days. I tried different softwares CLONER DVD4 etc . I got the same result " error copying to disk". I tried the new Beta edition AnyDVD 6.1.0.6 with no succes with another well-known softwares. I don't know what else to do now.
Maybe, those guys are better than SONY. They must be happy now, because no one so far can defeat their protection.
I am still waiting for ANYDVD to solve this problem.

Thanks

This is incorrect. I backed up The Illusionist R-1 on release day and it plays just fine on my standalone DVD players [Apex AD-1500 (region free, RCE-immune, Macrovision free), Apex AD-1500 (stock) & JVC XV-NP10] and on my computer [CyberLink PowerDVD 7 Deluxe & BlazeDVD 5 Pro].

What exactly did you do when you tried backing it up? What did you remove or did you do a full disc backup? Specifics would definitely help resolve the issue if one does exist that actually does relate to AnyDVD.

I used CloneDVD 2.9.0.3 & most likely AnyDVD 6.1.0.2. I cloned the full disc to my HD [compressing it to DVD5] using my PX-716A and then burned it to a Sony DVD+R [D21] disc using my PX-716A at 16x. Note: I always rip to my HD first to check quality and save myself from possibly wasting a DVD due to a bad rip.

If you really feel it's an issue with AnyDVD send the IFOs to Slysoft. Check out this link.

There is no problem to solve, you must have a bad source disc, almost all the users have backed up this title with success including myself.

Re: The ILLUSIONIST (Impossible to back up)

This is my third disk, I am using ANYDVD couple with Video Vault. I never had any problem before, when it gets to the burn option ... I get a 'error copying to disk' message. I was able to copy it with DVD CLONER4.... but i had to skip the menu.
Trust me ALAN1476, i know what i am talking about. I am not a novice.

Dear vaultnuc:
I fully respect your knowledge of these situations. But I am in region 1 and almost all the users of AnyDVD have backed this movie up sucessfully including myself. Sometime there are batches of bad source discs in areas of the world or country. I would try to use CloneDVD2 from Elby/Slysoft. they have a 21 day free trial. You can get it here, the version of Cloner you are using is an inferior product and is not supported on this forum
