An idea for AnyDVD

It would be awesome if, in AnyDVD it would display in the AnyDVD info Macrovision removal of APS. example:

Summary for drive J: (AnyDVD 6.1.1.4)
TSSTCORP CD/DVDW SH-S182D SB04 0925
Drive (Hardware) Region: 0 (not set!)

Media is a Data DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite)
Size of first Layer: 2084960 sectors (4072 MBytes)
Total size: 4169920 sectors (8144 MBytes)

Video DVD (or CD) label: OPEN_SEASON
Media is CSS protected!
Video Standard: NTSC
Media is locked to region(s): 1!

RCE protection not found.
Macrovision APS protection not found.
DVD structure appears to be correct.
Found & removed structural copy protection (Arccos, Puppetlock)!
Found & removed bogus title set!
Found & removed Autorun from Video DVD!
Found & removed 72 bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

The idea here is to display APS removed on the anyDVD info.

My idea is for it to display in anyDVD info the removal of APS Macrovision protection.
That way, ahead of time, you know if the DVD has APS on it or not.

Unfortunently,
Macrovision APS:=analog protection system and Macrovision RipGuard=Bad sector protections are not the same.

Re: An idea for AnyDVD

What is the difference between APS and RipGuard? And wow @ that that DVD having 72 bad sector protections. Seems to me that Hollywood is really out to stop us from copying DVD's reguardless if we own them or not. I am worried about what the future may bring upon us.

Re: An idea for AnyDVD

Unfortunently,
AnyDVD does not tell you if Macrovision APS is present or not.
It does tell you that the protection scheme of "RipGuard" is there. RipGuard is another
anticopy scheme from Macrovision company, Which is nothing but a bad sectors protection similar to SONY.

But it does tell you that it did not find any. How direct do you expect the Summary to get? I believe the information provided in more than enough. Just my opinion.
