I get the error message of "No disc in drive D"

I have downloaded the newest versions of AnyDVD and CloneDVD and when I go to write the disc i get an error message saying there is no readable medium in the drive and the disc is ejected. When I start AnyDVD and look at the information log it shows the DVD in the one drive and in the writing drive it says " No disc in drive E." When Ifirst started to use these two progams AnyDVD would say " Blank disc in drive E. I have reinstalled all of the sofeware that came with the computer and have a fresh system and I still get the same message as before doing all of the reinstalling. I get the same error message even if I change programs to copy the DVD by. I have check the device manager and my writting drive whick is drive E shows that it is working OK. When I installed each program I restarted them and I even purchased the programs and they show that they are registered to me. I have tried starting the programs in the auto start mode and the same message is stated in AnyDVD. I have changed the discs around to the different drive and when I do i get the same message of No disc in that drive. For some reason AnyDVD is not reading that I have a new blank DVD in the drive. I am using the same disc as when i first started and they worked then.
Any help will be helpful. Thanks!!!

@ Pat49,

Do Not Double Post !

Suggest viewing the Forum Rules (http://club.cdfreaks.com/announcemen...ouncementid=37) and abide by them. Within the past hour you have made two Forum posting asking exactly the same question (I get the error message of "No disc in drive D" / Re: No Disc is present in Drive D:!)

Best Regards,

bjkg,

I agree with you regarding double posting, but aren't you being a little rude
about it ? I would be willing to bet that 60% of the people that register for this forum, if not more, do not read forum rules, although they should. You should take it easy on some that barely have 2 posts.

@ dmp31,

I guess ‘rude’ is in the eyes of the beholder.

@ Pat49,

Suggest going to Device Manger and ensure that DVD/CD-ROM Drives, IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, and IDE Channels are all configured correctly.
Also ensure that your IDE Channels are in the DMA mode. Suggest viewing the below Forum Posting and note Forum Member ireland’s (posting #4) comments concerning setting DMA.

Re: I get the error message of "No disc in drive D"

Just to let you all know that I did some more checking and learned that my Cd/DVD burner was not working correctly. The CD burning part worked but not the DVD part. I got a new drive and everything is working OK.
If a person thinks of it and checks to see if the burner is working correctly along with the other items to check to help correct a problem.
Sorry for the double post I just seen it in two areas so I did the samething. I will try and not do it again.

1st, do you HAVE a dvd burner and not just a dvd-rom?

Do you have dvd burnable media? If so, is it the proper kind for your drive ( -r for a -r/rw drive or +r for a +r/rw drive). Can your drive handle both - & + media's?

Post the model number of your drive if you can and what type media you are using (brand, etc.).
