Re: I get this error

i know nothing about 1-click so i'm not familiar what its errors usually mean. what's the media ID on the discs you're using? MID can be found in the disc info tab of nero cd-dvd speed.

you should check the manufacturer's website to make sure you have the latest firmware. (I'm nto familiar with what the latest is for your drive, but firmware updates often fix media problems.

I'm going to guess that your media is ID MBIPG101R04 which I have very good luck with. it's not considered top of th eline, but it's not bad media either. It's possible a firmware update will allow you to burn them more consistently. definitely double check the media ID for us though. and updating firmware is always a good idea.

also, i think that model has an internal and external version. i assume your drive is internal, correct?

the line about VTS 06 containing bogus data is sort of disturbing. How did you rip the files to the hard drive? do they play correctly from the hard drive? if not, i'd try re-ripping them with the anydvd ripper.

Yes my drive is internal and the MID is CMC MAG EO1 (000) and for the ripping to the hard drive your probaly gonna shoot me for not saying it in the first place but i don't rip to my hard drive. I just copy from my sony dvd-rom (ddu1632as19)it gives me that error right when it goes to burn it.Any how i'll check the firmware and see what happens. Sorry to be such a pain.

Well, there you have it ... bad media (right reasons?) and bad backup methodology (possibly, but I'm not sure from your wording).

Actually, although you might not be aware of it, I think 1clickdvd is actually ripping to HDD first then burning from the temp files. I say this based on your statement

Which I infer to mean that there is a time frame before burning i.e. a reading stage first, followed by a burning stage. People often think that because they are using both a ripper drive and a burner drive that they are copying "on the fly" as with simple disk duplication machines. I doubt this is what 1clickdvd is doing. But i could be wrong about interpreting your posted statements. And I use CloneDVD for it's reliability, so I have no experience with 1clickdvd. Don't try to backup on the fly. Rip first. Then burn.

Buy Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blank media disks. And, if you are using +R media, then booktype to DVD-ROM format if your burner is capable of this. Otherwise, stick to -R media for broadest player compatibility (in which case you can add Sony -R 1X-8X Accucore, made in japan, not taiwan, to the two above media brand suggestions). Buy them online if you can't find them at your local store. Break your "off the store shelf" no-name media purchasing habit if you want success in backing up!

I will do that thanks for the help .I tried ripping it to the HD with anydvd then burning it with 1click and it worked. I've only burnt 15 dvds so its kind of a learning process as i go, but it keeps me from rebuying them when my kids mess up the burned dvds instead of the originals put up in the closet.

I have seen this many times, finally figured it out. Only seems to occure when I attempt to save a few bucks and buy a blister pack (50 - 100) cheap discs. I think the DVD recorder is not accpeting them, perhaps a flash bios upgrade for the DVD might correct it, but I ended up using them for coasters & xmas tree decorations as my drive is working just fine with other discs.
