How do I know any dvd is working

Hi to all,

I have just purchased a new dvd rom player (samsung D616). I am using it with any dvd 3.2.1.1
How can I be sure that after 5 zone changes, the samsung dvd-rom won't lock on one zone. When I check the properties of the dvd player, it already shows how many changes are left before lock.

Thank you very much for your help.

If you use AnyDVD, you don't have to change the region. That is one of the services that the software provides.

Re: How do I know any dvd is working

Hi Alex,

Thank you for your answer. If I understand what you say, if I wasn't using Any DVD, the player would ask me to change zone for each corresponding dvd? At the moment zone changes are seemless but the samsung dvd player (in the properties) at first told me I could change 5 times and now it shows 4 changes left. What will happen when it shows 0 changes left?

Thank you for your help.

Yes, Erindog, you are absolutely right. It won't show zero, if you keep using AnyDVD. What was the region code of the first DVD you put into the drive? This must be the Region set for your DVD drive.

If by any chance, very unlikely (supposed you don't use AnyDVD and put in your drive DVDs with different region codes), it will show zero, then your drive is locked to the last region it was set.

Re: How do I know any dvd is working

Thank you for your help.

The first DVD I used was zone two, the second zone one, then back to zone two and one. So I think I am safe. I will do one or two more tries and check the counter in the dvd properties. Any DVD loads automatically when I start my pc.

Once again, thank you all for your help.

I can't to play this particular DVD disc on my combo or DVD burner. Any body can tell me why. The title of this disc is Van Helsing.

Re: How do I know any dvd is working

Does it happen only with this particular DVD that you want to backup?
