Re: Hitch

i spoke to soon on hitch, after i backed it up i put it in and it played so i skipped some chapters and i thought it was fine. i went to watch it while ago and it would get so far and lockup. it did it in a couple of spots, tried in different dvd player and did same thing. tried backing up with different media same thing. i hope they put the 5271 link back on so i could try that.

This actually looks like a bad media / bad burn. I don't think this has anything to do with AnyDVD/ CloneDVD/whatever.

Re: Hitch

Does the fixed version (5271) work on the widescreen R1 of Hitch? Has anyone tried it?

The 5271 is definetly giving 5261. How do we get the updated version. Anyone?

Re: Hitch

Ollie, could you please respond to my post #54. It seems too big a coincidence that the same file, vts_01_4, is causing problems with Hitch and Beyond the Sea. You responded to my posts on the BYS thread, after I sent you my IFO files. You seemed to think it was the reading drive even though I tried a Liteon and NEC drives. In light of this "coincidence" do you think you might re-examine this problem. I appreciate your hard work and seemingly, inexhaustive participation in these forums.

http://update.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD5271.exe

5.2.7.1, 2005 06 23

- New: Added support for a new version of the "Sony ARccOS
protection" as found on "Hitch" R1 (US) to the
option to remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors"
- Fix: Problem introduced in 5.2.4.2 - not all unreadable
areas of ARccOS protected discs were replaced with dummy
sectors
- Some minor fixes and improvements
Would it be possible to repost it again SlySoft - I'd love to take it for a spin

Thanks!

Well, the only response I can give is - I do not know. I don't have one or the other DVD, and from the IFOs I don't see any reason why vts_01_4 should be protected. Maybe it is a coincidence, maybe not. Lucky me, in the end it is SlySoft's job to find out (hehe... )
Do the original discs play correctly in the drive you want to read them? I guess they do not.

Re: Hitch

I finally had some luck. I used Anydvd newest version and DVD X copy Xpress. UNCHECK CSS KEY ARCHIVE and it seemed to do the job. Only problem is you can't check the box to copy the entire DVD on X copy. I was only able to copy the movie no menus.

I also have been searching and reading I had NO luck with DVD Decryption & DVD Shrink. They we both the versions every fourm sugs. Decryption worked but the movie file was to large to copy so I used Shrink to. Shirnk kept giving errors Unable to find correct file. I did use it right because I've used it in the past on other DVD's.
Good luck and have Fun. I have to wonder if the movie is even worth all the trouble everyone is going through. $19.00 might be worth less frustration.

Off to the outer banks for the week Later bye.

On my standalone there was a 3-4 sec hesitation before it continued to play. That is why I initially believed it to be a layer break problem. I didn't try to watch it on the 'puter, just back it up where, of course, it never got past 57% at file vts_01_4 on either drive. Thanks for answering.

I am very sorry, but our IT staff changed the server setup. At the moment, the update server redirects all requests to the release version 5261.
I will provide you with a new link as soon as possible.
