Nero and AnyDVD doesn't work anymore. I get the message in Nero "Failed to read from the file %s." This happens during analysis.

Are you ripping to HDD first using AnyDVD's ripper?

What version of AnyDVD are you using? This is important as there is a new version that will probably fix all your issues.

I am using the current versions of AnyDVD & Nero 6.0.9.0 & 6.6.1.4. This is a workout video that I own, but this happens with any movie. I have included the log if that helps.

With your old version of Nero (6.6.1.4), I would often have problems attempting to import anything into Recode if the original wasn't place in my burner when importing. Try importing from your burner only.

With Nero 7.9.5.0A, I'm not having any problems using Recode and Anydvd 6.0.9.0

Try with DVD Shrink instead on Nero.

Oh, by the way, this was a bug/issue that was originally admitted to by Ahead/Nero (for Nero 6.6): if you have more than one optical drive in your system, try to use the burner when you import the disc--and not a dvd-rom drive.

Thanks for the help. I was successful using my burner only. I wonder why Nero would disable drive to drive transfers. I must have updated to the latest version of 6 without trying to burn anything. It was working fine the last time I copied a DVD, but I must admit it was some time ago. Does ver 7 have this limitation?

No it has been fixed in Nero 7.

With Nero Recode 2.3.7.0 (Nero Ultra Edition Enchanced version 7.5.9.0A) I was able to successfully import Rob Roy Region 1 using my dvd-rom drive (not my burner). That said, I haven't attempted to backup this movie using Recode, but I remember with Nero 6.6, importing any movie would cause an immediate crash in Recode when using my dvd-rom drive.

So, that seems to suggest version 7 doesn't suffer from the same problem.
