Having an Clone 1 TCE error when Backing up The Cotton Club

Hello, I am getting a Clone 1 TCE error 62% into the movie the Cotton Club.
it a brand new disc just got it at Best Buy.

Actually this is my second go-around with this DVD The first one i had 2 replace it because it had the same Clone 1 TCE error on the same spot no less.
I also tried rippin' it with AnyDVD & it did rip the whole movie but when i try 2 run it with CloneDVD it stop at the same place with the same error.

I read on some old CDfreaks 2003 -2004 posts that alot people had this same problem. I didn't see a cure among them pass posts.

I have the newest ANYDVD Update & CloneDVD Update.

I also try it with DVDShrink & Nero and what everyone is bragging about The Great DVDfab all fail.

So any suggestion????

Thanx!

Clone 1 means that CloneDVD cannot compress. This is usually caused if the source material has not been decrypted, so CloneDVD does not see valid video material. Check the log, do you see a lot of "Warning - remuxing forced" messages? Does the original DVD play on your computer while AnyDVD is enabled?

Re: Having an Clone 1 TCE error when Backing up The Cotton Club

The whole movie Plays on all my computers when AnyDVD is Enable & DVD Players.
The Log tell me of No warning until the "Oh No Lady pops up" at 62%.

Maybe i can send this problem to Slyfox I forgot the link to where i foward my error to.
If Slyfox is out there maybe you can send me a Link or a solution.

Thank Tru 4 giving me a reply.
I hope 2 make a back-up of this DVD because i don't want my orginal one scuffed in the near future

I'm receiving the same error when trying to backup Cotton Club. I checked my log and it does have A LOT of "remuxing forced" error messages. What do those errors mean, and is there a fix??

Thanks.

SmoothB,
Unless The Cotton Club has been re-released, this DVD movie is old news.

Please always state exactly what versions of AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 that you are using. Please never say "newest" or "the latest" or "the most recent" vesions when asking for help.

Best regards,

What do you mean this movie is "old news" ?? Does that mean there is a fix and I missed it somewhere, or its a lost cause??

Oops! Forgot the questions asked. I'm using AnyDVD 6.0.8.2 and CloneDVD2 2.9.0.1.

Do you have two DVD drives ... a ripper and a burner? Try ripping it with the other drive.

I've already tried that. I've even tried ripping it to my hd from my dvd burner (instead of my reader), and still get the same error.

I mean the DVD was released in July 2001 and Region1 USA (is that you too?) copied fine for me back when I bought it. I suspect you may have a DVD that is scratched or damaged or pitted. Or the same DVD has been reissued in another pressing that is a bad pressing. Can you exchange it at the store for another copy. Or get a refund and buy it at another store?

Also you could try to set AnyDVD to "Slow & Easy", or whatever the title for that setting is, for your burner drive. A burner drive usually gives a slower rip than a ROM drive. See if that helps.

Is the DVD absolutely clean? Tip it around under a flourescent light, which is better for revealing flaws than a tungston light bulb.

you can do this with with Windows Explorer or better yet, you could use AnyDVD's "Rip to Hard Drive" feature. Using the AnyDVD ripper feature runs the DVD files through "FixVTS" which may correct any errors.

Gotta go for a while

Instead of using the ripper, download FixVTS. AnyDVD used the code from that program but the one in AnyDVD is outdated.

Use FixVTS for a better clean.

There is no need to use FixVTS or the AnyDVD ripper with elby CloneDVD2.

Thanks.
This is usually caused by incorrect CSS decryption. Sorry to ask this, but are you using a cracked AnyDVD version? This could be the cause of this problem.
It is also possible that AnyDVD picked a wrong CSS Key. Try to play the original disc with AnyDVD enabled. If the video is garbled CSS decryption isn't working. If you enabled the CSS Archive in AnyDVD, try to delete the CSS Keys or disable the archive. Re-Insert the disc and try again.

I wish Slysoft would add cleaning to the list of things AnyDVD did

Re: Having an Clone 1 TCE error when Backing up The Cotton Club

Nope, not a cracked AnyDVD. Fully purchased thru Slysoft. I tried what linx05 suggested, and still nothing. I still get the same "unexpected error" message around 62% reading completion. I'm gonna exchange it for a different copy and see if it was just a defective one I got. I'll try to back it up again, and let you know how it goes.

Re: Having an Clone 1 TCE error when Backing up The Cotton Club

Smooth B... Since my bad disc Days.. I took it back to where i bought it from & got a proper working one.

First:
I Zip it to SlySoft for annalists AND Second: Slysoft did Jack-Sit a bout it. so after two weeks of waiting I return the old one & got a new one.

Also one other thing i had to split the movie in Two parts because it was over two hour long & the Quality was at 45% RED which is pretty bad if you planning to watch it & this was without the Menu too (keep that in-mind). so if i was U I would not try to fit it All on one DVD-r or RW. Instead I broke it down in two parts & the quality is great.

Also you can go the Dual-Layer route which i'm planning to converted Cotton club 2 dual-layer very soon but for now i really just wanted a copy to watch without screwing up my Newbie DVD Disc.
