The Grimm Brothers

I tried backing up my movie called 'The Grimm Brothers'. I used Anydvd version 5941 & the newest trial clonedvd2 thats available. For whatever reason it stops backing up at 26% every time regardless of which dvdwriter I have recording. Was thinking of purchaseing Clonedvd2 just based on what I have read on the program. Any input on what the problem might be if at all?

Have burned many Dvds from my collection useing nero recode and anydvd but this Grimm Brothers not working at all.

Thanks
Dreamwiser.

When did it stop? While reading? While writing? Error message?

Your post is not clear on this but your "stop at 26%" is happening during the burn phase of backing up correct?

Rule #1: Always eliminate the simplest variable first when troubleshooting burning problems.

You didn't state, and none of our geniuses (actually, Tru might be borderline genius) even asked:

1. What brand, type and speed rating of blank disks are you using?
2. And what speed did you set CloneDVD to burn them at?

Best regards,
Whisperer

I would have asked, if Dreamwiser had confirmed the error happened during writing.

Re: The Grimm Brothers

I have been having problems too. I am using the latest anydvd and clonedvd2. Every seems to be fine (using full copy) until I try to play the image created. When I press the play button it just loops back to the same screen after a few seconds. The original works fine. I have tried with movie only and it works so any ideas????

Had same problem with my region 2 backup, backed up main movie only without preserving menu's and backup now plays fine. I thought I had a dodgy master but obviously not as I presume discoballs is region 2 UK as well.
There must be some kind of protection built in the main menu to prevent copying I presume? Maybe more qualified members have come across this problem before or is it a new form of protection?
Just a footnote PowerDvd will not play back the master disc either, has same problem with looping back to the play menu time after time.
Only after backing up main film only without menu's would PowerDvd play files from harddrive.

Did you have the option "Remove annoying trailers and adverts" enabled in AnyDVD? If yes, try to switch it off.
Does the original disc play correctly on your computer with this option enabled? If not, switch it off before attempting to copy the disc.

Remove annoying trailers and adverts was switched off when I backed my copy up both times, have since tried it in another DVD player I have and the full disc with menus does not loop back. My Sanyo Dvd loops back, my Matsui (Currys Cheapo) Dvd plays it back no problem. But alas PowerDvd does not like setup at all only with menu's removed.
At leased it backed up.
