Re: getting "Invalid block start code"

I've been having similar problems lately (along with "cyclical redundancy check" errors) that just seemed to appear out of the blue (many successful backups in the past). I even got one from a brand new DVD that I had just burned. I'm almost wondering if it's not an issue with the software on my hard drive, and not the DVD's. I use AnyDVD (an older version) and CloneDVD.

Re: getting "Invalid block start code"

do a search on sector protection
that will solve all your problems
your drives and disks are all fine

And you are using the Microsoft IDE drivers? Or third party drivers?

Re: getting "Invalid block start code"

'Using the same drivers & software that I've used on the past 65+ backups. As I mentioned, this just started recently. Unfortunately, I didn't notate my problem DVD's (except for FlightPlan-HalfLight and SkyHigh), so I don't know if they are from t he same studios (or not).
COULD this be a new protection scheme we're dealing with?

I don't think this has anything to do with "protection", and Tru's question was a very good one: What IDE drivers are you using (even if they haven't changed for the last 65+ backups)?
