AnyDVD Discuss, Frustraed by "Lady and the Tramp" at Copy Movie forum; I posted this problem in the main "Copy DVD" forum, but haven't met with much success, so I figured I'd ask here. I'm trying to process the recently released "Lady and the Tramp" DVD into an AVI file. I'm using AnyDVD 5.

Frustraed by "Lady and the Tramp"

I posted this problem in the main "Copy DVD" forum, but haven't met with much success, so I figured I'd ask here.

I'm trying to process the recently released "Lady and the Tramp" DVD into an AVI file. I'm using AnyDVD 5.9.4.1 to circumvent the copy protections. I've tried ripping the DVD with DVD Decrypter, AnyDVD's ripper and CloneDVD 2.8.9.2. I then use AutoGK (v 2.26) to process the outputted files into an AVI. This AVI ends up with its audio aproximately one second off. I've been told the DVD possesses a new version of RipGuard, which I don't believe AnyDVD supports, yet. This is probably the cause. I ran the ripped files through PGCEdit (v 0.6.3.1) with the PSL2 plug-in's (v 2.14) ARccOS wizard and was able to reduce the delay to about half a second. This leads me to believe that I can completely eliminate the delay with this tool, but I am unsure of how to proceed. Is there anyone who is having a similar problem? If so, has anyone managed to overcome it? If nobody has, is there any way I can manually repair the structure of the ripped files to entirely remove the protection and effectively resync the audio?

The following is the initial recognition log from AnyDVD:

Quote:

@ heffalump

The problems you are experiencing with converting the Commercial DVD Movie Title Lady and the Tramp to a .AVI file has nothing to do with the AnyDVD software program or the CloneDVD software program. You would be better severed to continue your inquiry in the appropriate Copy DVD Movie Forum.

Best Regards,

Re: Frustraed by "Lady and the Tramp"

I have had similar problems with other movies. I have found two programs that encode to an AVI file with much fewer Audio Sync Problems. This is because these two programs read the files on the DVD much more like the way a standalone DVD player process them. So instead of just copying a bunch of files over these programs actually look at the DVD's IFO files and determine the best way to encode the files to keep them in sync.

The first program is an old one called MPEG Mediator. The thing you need to know about the Mediator is that you must load the IFO file and not the VOB files to accomplish good sync on difficult movies. The program is a little difficult to use but it is free. I think you can still get this program on Doom9.org. The program is no longer in development.

The second one is my favorite, it is FairUse ( http://www.fairusewizard.com/lang_en...t_edition.html ). It is easy to use and the Light Edition is free; but after you try the product you will want the full edition which cost $20. FairUse and AnyDVD seem to be a great combination.

After you try these products please post your results here. I have not tried this movie, so I would be interested in your results.

Really no reason to be a dick about it. Just because it says it removed RipGuard protection, doesn't mean it necessarily got it all. It clearly missed something, be it from RipGuard or another protection scheme. I fail to comprehend why you would take time out of your day for such an asinine post.

I immensely appreciate your input on the subject. I had no idea about the existence of either of these programs. Unfortunately, you're just about twelve hours too late. I was hell-bent on getting an adequately synced version, so I ended up trying a dozen methods, until I got to the following. I posted it in the main "Copy DVD Movie" forum:

I ran this extracted VOB through AutoGK and the outputted AVI was perfectly synced.

So...if anyone else is having such a problem, I hope this'll help!
I will definitely give FairUse Wizard a try. Thanks again for your help!
