whenever I mentioned pre-release discs I always prefaced it by saying I got it early from work and I only ripped things that I had copies of on hold for purchase (we weren't allowed to actually ring them up until the release day otherwise we get fined BIG TIME)

maybe if the original poster was more open about the source the discussion would have been more open in general, but with the way the law has been these days and the very real possibility of getting CDF in trouble I think it's best to hold off until release or within a few days thereof.

Used to....Ok I see now. I just recalled you saying something about working, this was like 2 or 3 months back.

yeah that was my job when I was away at school. now I've graduated and I've joined the unemployment-force

i have a BA in psychology and a BS in television, radio, and film (concentration in production)

I've been looking for jobs and in the meantime to get some cash i put an ad in the newpaper for computer-nerd stuff. I've gotten a few calls for setting up computers, setting up networks, installing hard drives, replacing optical drives, stuff like that. plus with all visits i do spyware scans and i'll install AVG if they want me to. honestly, I enjoy doing the computer stuff for people...too bad i didn't go to school for it. I'm not certified in anything computer related so I think a real job is sort of out of the question unless i win the lottery and can go back to school.

i've put in my resume a few places for production work, but haven't had much luck so far. I say this every week, but THIS week I'm going to start looking really hard haha

But let not kid ourselves with this.. We all know well at least i know Rental Places get there DVD two to three week in advance sometime depending on the rarity of the title.

I got Final Destination 3 like 2 weeks ago but mine is a Legit Hollywood Manufacture one. Not a rental waiting to be put on a shelf next Tuesday that some $5.50 hour weasel with an Elmer glue name tag name Roy pimple face has Sneak home a copy to burn.

We Get Copies of Legit Movie Not Screener to View & keep and to give insight on how well it will fair with the rest of the population... Boy!! I love my job

Don't shoot me for mentioning this, but, have you thought about maybe working temporarily with Geek Squad? It'd get you some experience and there is NO POSSIBLE WAY you know less about machines than the people that work there!

Good luck with the job search, though. It's brutal out there.

I would suggest you search the Gaming Industry for a possible fit for your dual skill set. Your formal education brings production and media communication skills. Your psychology could assist in game development (per game logic / story line). This coupled with your computer knowledge and savvy allows you to be a valuable contributor. Another avenue of pursuit would be cable TV networks, such as G4 (previously TechTV). http://www.g4tv.com/shows/index.html .
