AnyDVD Discuss, failed to read file "E:\" (Incorrect function) at Copy Movie forum; I'm trying to back up 24 season 1 disc 5 using any dvd 6.0.11 ,dvd shrink3.2, and nero 7 at about 20% encoding it replies failed to read "E:\" incorrect function any suggestions would be appreciated

I'm trying to back up 24 season 1 disc 5 using any dvd 6.0.11 ,dvd shrink3.2, and nero 7 at about 20% encoding it replies failed to read "E:\" incorrect function any suggestions would be appreciated

dvd shrink 3.2 and it replies with read file error with using any dvd

well with the little information provided I'd say it's a bad disc. if i were you'd i'd go to where you bought it and exchange it for another.

when you say it replies with a "read file error when using anydvd" do you mean that you've tried to rip it with the anydvd ripper?

do you have another drive you can try it on? some drives are better readers than others.

also, once in a while, setting anydvd's drive speed control to slow and quiet will help it get through a tough rip.

overall i think the dvd is just poorly mastered or has some kind of manufacturing error which is pretty common...and even moreso on TV dvds from my experience.
